I cant comment on the McGurk situation at all as I dont know, I hope its that he just doesnt fir into the way Ollie currently wants to play, but he seems to be getting on very well at Yeovil.

1 game he played, dont remember who against, but he played in his favoured left sided attacing midfield and he put some great crosses in and contributed a few good passes, but Flynn insisted on playing him as a LB/LWB which was not his game.

He was told when he signed (apparently) that he would be an attacking midfielder/wide attacker and not a defender which obviously isnt his game, he played for England U18/19/20 as an attacking midfielder and had some success there.

There has to be something going on there though.

Holloway has literally given every single player a clean slate & included them - everyone apart from Uwakwe…

Even McGurk was given game time under Holloway before being moved out on loan.

Despite Holloway publically stating this about him...

McGurk is currently warming the bench for Yeovil, great talent but I think we have seen the last of him playing for the Town.

I think he gave a him a chance in a behind closed doors game we had a month or two ago, can’t remember who against and then decided he isn’t for him. If he played him in a official game then Holloway reckoned he couldn’t go back out on loan.

I can't remember who it was against either but I too remember Uwakwe playing a game as a winger and he bossed it. Was his one good performance for us.

To be fair his one game for Maidenhead severely limited Holloway's choices. If he'd been on the bench for us at all we couldn't have loaned him out again if ultimately it was decided he wasn't what Holloway wanted.

I don't know if Holloway continued to freeze him out & refuse to allow him to train with the rest of the squad, although I doubt it from everything else we've seen of him. So if Uwakwe was training with the club ultimately Holloway gave him as much of a chance as he was able in the circumstances & decided he wasn't what we need.

Yes he was excellent in the one game when played correctly, but I dont remember which game it was out of his 8 he played.

It was against Bristol Rovers back in November.

Dan Barden formally recalled by Norwich, which I expect means he's off on loan to non league.

Yes would much rather have had an experienced keeper on loan, basically as Ollie has done, Barden looks so similar to Bycroft and a very limited quality, but hes still young and will improve.

Nowhere near good enough to start in L2 though let alone in the Championship.
