Drinan out for 10-12 weeks, so might be back for the playoffs.
Could we see the "rebirth" of Glatzel?

On the back of him being the best player we had 2nd half of last season I really want it to come good for Glatzel but I think he's quite a different player to Drinan and only really works as the central striker.
The beauty of our forward line after January was they're all very different players to each other. The downfall is there's no ready made alternative to any of them if injured.
I think Holloway is going to need to either tinker with another new formation or yet again have to force a square peg in to a round hole.

I think he will shift more to a 2 focused strikers up front with McGregor playing the Drinan role, let's face it, even though Drinan was playing one of the 3, he was more of a wide forward/winger than a striker. Glatzel might be that second striker, but it is going to take a shift of tactics somewhere.
One thing we do know is that he likes to have a lot of attacking options on the bench, so it's going to be good competition between Glatz, Tsimanga and Westley - and I guess you could add Nichols into that list as well, although all signs are that he is a starter.

McGregor playing the Drinan role was my prediction a few days ago, somebody will I am sure with Drinan being sorely missed last Saturday.

A lot of the loans have had a chance now to settle in, is there any you’d look to extend/sign for next season?

Nichols is probably about as done as deal as you get for a perm signing next year I would expect. Barden gone back (pretty much), Cotteril i would expect Swansea would be looking for a Lge1 loan next season and I can't see anything happening with Tshimanga. So I guess the question is, Freckles on a Perm? Westley hasn't featured enough to make a call on, but I wouldn't be against another loan spell next season at this point, unless Holloway has other candidates avaialble. Depends on what the budget is I guess..

Won't be surprised if Feckleton doesn't receive a permanent contract offer for next season and maybe beyond.

Wait what. Freckleton hasn't done enough to deserve a perm deal yet. We'd have sent him back if we could.
I'm not having a go at him, but I'm not pussy footing around the situation either.

Yeah, I can't see Freckleton being offered a deal personally.

I suspect Nichols will be our first announced transfer to the surprise of no one.
Westley hasn't had enough game time for any of us to really say one way or another. The little I've seen though I wouldn't be opposed to it if we got him for a full season loan.
The rest I'd have no interest in being here next season & I'll have likely forgotten who the hell they are when someone mentions they scored on the ex players where are they now thread in 3 years.

I think the fact that before the transfer window we wouldn’t have been too bothered if any of the loans had been recalled, so don’t see any of them being signed.
That leaves Westley & Nichols, as has been said I’d think Nichols is probably a done deal, unless he gets a much better offer elsewhere or suffers an injury. Westley hasn’t played enough at this point to say we should sign him up

Call me a cynic, but the way that both managers and the club have been championing Freckles since his arrival, it wouldn't surprise me in the least if there is already a deal in place, otherwise why else spread the praise so thick for a player that isn't ours whilst limiting the praise given to the likes of McGregor and Minturn, it doesn't make sense.. I might be way wide of the mark, just putting it out there..

Didn't Holloway say publicly that he wanted to send him back to Sheff Utd, but that they wouldn't take him unless they could loan him out elsewhere?

His profile always made more sense as a permanent transfer rather than loan. Young, left footed CB with a decent amount of senior appearances and underlying numbers. I imagine if Delaney was fit to start the season, they’d have rotated quite well. Although if memory serves correctly, he was OOC at the end of last season with better clubs than us interested in taking him permanently and Sheff United triggered an extension so perhaps he wouldn’t be here at all if not for a loan.
