So has Nichols been "released by his club" or has he "gone back to his parent club"?

So what size squad do we thing IH will be after.

We want quality over quantity, but that goes a bit wrong if you suffer too many injuries.
If you have players like Clarke that can cover multiple positions then I guess you can get away with a few less.

I think we will probably be looking at a squad of no more than 14 or 15 players, then maybe a couple of loans on top and then the youth team to pad the bench and basically hope we get no injuries.

He has to be fit to cover even 1 position!

I would expect a few more, the truth is this season our squad was huge when you consider the youngsters and/or the people out on loan. So we can have considerably less than this season and still have a decent squad in number terms.

A small squad of decent numbers can work though, but you must have options in key areas, in my opinion thats forward areas, as per the Wellens squad. We have a number of emergency CB's come in because of low numbers, but we had Woolery/Isgrove/Anderson/DJ to swap around when needed.

Boateng would be a great addition imo.

I wonder if we'll go for Josh Benson now he's been released by Barnsley. We were linked with him in January and he played for Holloway at Grimsby. Apparently he's pretty injury prone so he would fit in nicely here.

He said around 23 didn't he?

The free agent market always seems to be packed with players that you can dip into on short term deals if you have a huge injury/suspension crisis.

Method of recruitment has to be to keep the squad relatively trim but full of players who aren't injury prone. I'm fed up of having so many injury issues, it stops us gaining momentum and they never build up fitness. Holloway's teams are set up to be fit and in your face, it would be stupid to sign players who have injury issues

The "problem" with squad sizes is knowing who counts. I can't imagine any 23 would include the first year pros/third year scholars (depending on exactly what they are) except for Ameen. But does it include Sonny Hart, Jaxon Brown, Redman Evans, Dylan Mitchell? Maybe. Probably depends how the run goes!

Technically we have 23 already if everyone accepts their terms offered. Nobody thinks this is the 23 he'd have in mind!

This isn't really on topic but something that's been bothering me all season is Will Wright taking the free kicks from around the half way line.  I can accept he takes a good corner and delivers a good free kick from the wide areas but I refuse to believe we're better suited having him, what is essentially, lump it towards the box when he could be one of the targets.  Surely a Freckleton or a Clark for example could do the same job?

But he has scored more than one screamer from way out.

Which is great but he's not going to score from the touchline at the half way point.  Ripley could be the one launching it in even, just can't see that Wright's accuracy is so good he should be taking those particular set pieces when he could be in the box himself.

Good for him, very good 9 for this level.
