Sobowale Delaney Butterworth Minturn
No complaints about that. I like Butterworth but he’s too inconstant. Delaney’s been a bit of a disaster really. No way Tshimanga‘s worth 4k a week!

I'm pretty sure this is close to accurate ( https://salarysport.com/football/league-two/swindon-town/) so yes Cox's wages, with his injury record, would seem like a big risk. So not surprised he is gone. I'm surprised Glatzel has been offered a deal. He picked up at the end of the season, but largely only played because Drinnan was injured. For what its worth i'm told the following are people he would like to move on (he has spoken about being annoyed about how much of next seasons budget is committed to under contract players he doesn't want), there may be others. Sobowale Delaney Butterworth Minturn Butterworth surprises me.

Quite a bit jump up to Kilkenny's wages if accurate. I guess he came from a PL club and had played a fair bit, but still a big gap between him and the next highest.

Butterworth has ability, but much as his the rest of his career, he looks good one in every ten games, and its not enough.
Also where does he play in Holloways 3-4-3 set up? He played most times as the wide player in a 4, but often when we were behind and need more attacking options at 'wing back'. He started the last game of the season as one of the front 3 with Smith and Glatzel, and while none of them were great, Butterworth was awful.
You would prefer people like McGregor in the wide 4, and hopefully he brings in quick forwards to compliment Smith in the front 4.

Yep. Thats where that Jan budget was spent in an emergency in August. For what its worth i think he is very good. Given the wages and limitations in budget, i can't say i would be surprised if has moved on if there was interest. But i quite like the Ofoborh/Kilkenny access as the midfield 2 next season.

Sobowale Delaney Butterworth Minturn I can see wanting to move on Sobowale, as he hasn't featured much toward the emd of the season. Delaney has been injured for too many games, for me, he lacks the pace needed to maintain a high line. Butterworth is too inconsistent, while Minturn doesn't seem to fit the Holloway mould. I am not surprised by Glatzel being offered a deal, as he has provided a good number of assists, while a pre-season of better linking up with Smith would be a priority. His return in front of goal has not reflected his extreme effort. Of the loan players, I would have expected some interest in signing Nichols, maybe that's a role he sees for Glatzel. I can see players wanting to join Swindon, Holloway's management and relatively large crowds promising success and recognition should be key factors. Finally, please sign, Nnamdi - you have a special place with the supporters, you have lived and breathed Swindon Town providing courage, committment and no short measure of skill.

https://thetownend.com/index.php?topic=59328.msg1689579#msg1689579First post updated. Couple of interesting notes on the scholars - Obodo and Chard released. The four that have been extended are termed as taking up options rather than signing professional contracts, not sure if that's just semantics but I think suggests they've all only got another year tops. Obviously we know Ameen has been offered something.

Not a fucking chance Drinan was on £3500 a week. If he was that's extremely funny. Almost negligence.
Good honest player but he's worth half that at best.

Likewise Will Wright being our 13th best paid player seems... unlikely.

I’d like to retain Minturn. Problem for him is Will Wright. Both like to bring the ball out from the back but Wright is way ahead of him.

Tshimanga was on a good wage at Peterborough, but, he no longer is and has no contract so maybe he will accept a much lower wage as any wage is better than none. And if someone else wants to pay him circa £3k a week them let them. It wont be us signing an unemployed player for that sort of wage.

Why not? He was a league above in a team pushing to go higher. Good chance some of their players were on good money either through reward or to ensure they advanced their squad to support it. He isn't worth that for us.

Remains to be see if the players accept a new deal, Nnamdi must have been on a big wage before he came here, albeit he had an injury record so signed get fit, prove his fitness and to get playing again - I think this season he has proved himself and has clearly got over any injury issues, suspect there may be interest from L1.
Glatzel will have interest from elsewhere I suspect as a proven goal scorer, all may depend on his thoughts, I'm sure Holloway will be looking for another striker so Glatz may become a squad player rather than a nailed on starter.

No real surprises there.
Will be interesting to see what becomes of McGurk - there is clearly talent there. He’s either gonna drift into obscurity or being the 2020s Alex Revell.
Can see the pro’s of wanting to move Delaney on but when he was fit I thought he was decent. He had a real purple patch mid season.
Thought Cox was an ok little player & very suited (when fit) to actually playing wing back.

Its very likely. Crawley have and had a tiny budget when promoted. He didnt move here because he got bumper wages, he moved because it was easy for clubs to offer him more than he was on, the same as all the promotion squad that abandoned Crawley.
