It's a simple, objective fact that the world is warming. Regardless of whether or not people accept it. The scientific community (people that actually know their onions), agree overwhelmingly that it is caused by man's influence on the planet. Regardless of the cause, it is happening. Again, that is a fact. Not opinion, but fact.
The effects of it are debatable to a degree but few, if any, forecasts are good.
This is my, highly illogical, reason why we haven’t been visited by little green men. Any civilisation is pre programmed to destroy itself before the ability to ‘star trek’ evolves. Just enjoy the weather whilst you can! There’s fuck all we can do about anything.

The night/day line on the Moon has nothing to do with the Earth.
soapy tit wank I know that Jayo. I meant the light cast onto the Moon, from our Earth view perspective is relative to how much of the day/night line we see. Most of us know that c50% of the Moon is pretty much always cast in light, but when the Moon has travelled 90 degrees around the Earth (since the beginning of it's cycle) or around 7 days, our general perception is we can only see a half of that light and thus a half Moon (or First Quarter as it should be understood).

Just watched Supermarine get promoted. Played 40 minuted with ten men and then penalties. Two good saves and they are up with Chippenham. All good stuff.

Chippenham are still a division higher. Still, a great achievement nonetheless.

I'm surprised a soldering iron is still a thing.... I've got one somewhere, haven't used it for years.

Soldering iron still going strong here. Awesomely simple bit of kit for circuitry etc. The niece and I will be attempting to make an Acoustic Levitator in the Summer

I use my regularly when wiring stuff up, just to tin the ends to avoid fraying.

The NHS....
We had to take our 5 year old to see a specialist consultant on Monday, the Furness General has a pretty sketchy reputation but I have to say that the staff in pediatrics were brilliant, kept a slightly nervous 5 year old very occupied and reassured whilst also keeping her rather more perturbed and nervous parents informed throughout the process. Went into appointment spot on time as well and seen quickly and efficiently.
The NHS gets a lot of stick, but from my experiences the staff are really doing their best in fairly crappy circumstances.

Having now experienced the USA system, the NHS is a modern marvel. Yes, I would say the USA system for those properly insured provides pretty good Nursing care and facilities - beyond that it's like being in the Cinema popcorn queue, knowing you are only a few steps from being mugged.

That SBC have passed the planning application for a new Science Museum facility up at Wroughton. Should be up and running by 2020, and in theory the public will get more access to the artefacts. There's some proper amazing stuff in the collection.

Will Clarkson be officially registered as an artefact now then?
