Letting agency/Landlord taking (so far) 27 days to OK some basic maintainance needed on our new house. The list isn't exactly exhausting or extensive, here's what the engineer chappy sent them...

Smoke alarm is meant to run on the mains, but isn't, replaced the 9v backup battery which had run out so at leasnt we shouldn't die in a fire... it's just fucking ridiculous that it's taken this long.

Not sure complaining what the letterbox is made of is really a valid complaint?  Hmmm

We've had no oven since July and live beneath our landlords, no letting agencies involved. I hate renting.

One for the legal eagles on here, this is very big news round here as you can imagine, but I don't really see what its going to actually achieve if the main witness can just choose not to answer any questions.

It's because Ann Coulter re-tweeted them in the first instance, he just follows certain right wing nut  jobs.  The videos will no doubt end-up being "fake" anyway, so expect the usual " not my fault gov, I was just tweeting what someone else wrote".

Sorry should have been clearer, the letterbox is broken, there's no outer half, the inner half flaps in the wind and it's fucking cold. They offered to cover it up, but I kinda like actually recieving my post...

At least one has already been revealed to not be as it seems, but doesn't really matter now, the BBC are doing a fantastic job of promoting Britain First on their website!

The word flaps just makes me chuckle.

Smoke alarms stop working after 10 years. I gave up on the letting agent and installed my own in the end and notified them. I'm sure they aren't up to the requirements

I think the law changed regarding smoke alarms, pretty sure it is down to the tenant to sort, then once a new tenant moves in the landlord has to fit/or replace.

Also, GDPR and it's consequences. Going to have a massive impact especially in education. We have staff do 'stuff' and they do not realise the consequences.

Fucking ridiculous this now. Schools are no longer allowed to take folders of paperwork on school trips, such as registers, because it can be deemed a security risk. You can take them, only if they are secure, in a briefcase for example.

This GDPR is affecting businesses and education, and a lot people are not aware!
