Step up for him, so that's a positive. Hopefully he'll continue to develop & get a NL loan next season.

Could we get McGurk back to play up top if out of all options?

We should be fine anyway barring anymore injuries.

Need to get Holloway signed up for next season so he can start sorting who he wants here next season as well.

I can see McGregor playing in Drinan's position if he has sufficient pace.  Before Drinan, Jaxon Brown was the runner playing like perpetual motion were possible.  Maybe, it's another player, but one who can do the run without collapsing in a heap. There may be some surprises than usual around 2.00 p.m., Saturday.  McGurk doesn't appear to be the type of player that will run like Usain Bolt for an hour.

Only Dylan Mitchell of those (pros) out on loan who isn't confirmed out until EOS then, but I think that might come shortly.

Swindon Town Academy's Alistair Stewart has joined Southern League side Plymouth Parkway on loan.
Turns out it’s a permanent move. Their Twitter account posted the below…

“New Signing | ✍️

Parkway has captured the signature of former @academystfc midfielder Ali Stewart.

Ali played under Assistant Manager @LeePeacock76 during his time with Swindon”

Fair play, good luck to him.

Sounds like at least some of the second years know their fate for next year then. Stewart always seemed unlikely to get a deal. Ameen, McCormick and Chard you'd think will?

These are the second years:

Botan Ameen FW
Liam Hutt DF
Harry Chard DL
Antony McCormick DC
Alistair Stewart DM
Miles Obodo FW
George Alston AM/FW
Dani Gonzalez-Birchall MF
Conor Britchford-Stanley MF

Really handy article in the Moonraker with more information on the contract expiries of the first team as well - I've been tracking these but a lot were unknown and Sam has cleared up all bar Dylan Mitchell:

Contract Expiries
2025: Bycroft, Johnson, Khan, Cain, Uwakwe, Dworzak, Glatzel, Drinan, Cox, Ripley, Hall, Ofoborh, McGurk
2026: Sobowale, Clarke, Brown, Kilkenny, Butterworth, H Smith, Evans, Wright, Delaney, Kirkman, McGregor, Hart
2027: Minturn
Unknown: Mitchell

You'd have to say, that's some best case scenario stuff - everyone contracted past this year is good or very young, everyone we'd want rid of is out of contract. Would expect a few renewals from the first group (Ofoborh and Ripley if he does well) but this will probably be the best place we've started a summer in under Morfuni.

Some belated credit to Jamie Russell for at least getting the contract lengths right!

Yeah, I'm pretty happy with that. Most of what you want to keep has at least another year and some dead wood like Khan and Uwakwe contracts expiring.

Drinan out for 10-12 weeks, so might be back for the playoffs.
