Have just submitted a poll asking members of this forum if they have confidence in the ownership of STFC.  Without predicting the outcome, it should at the very least be useful to the Trust in gauging the collective mood of fans - regardless of whether they are a member of the Trust or not.

I don’t imagine the result is in much doubt, the more interesting thing will be how many people bother to vote.

A random thought, but did wonder if the budget has been pitched at 5 or 6k attendance for a while now?

If so, then a drop off 2k or more could be sustained for a while.
The club has survived on 4-5k before & in the division above.

Suspect that it will take a combination of factors to facilitate a positive change of ownership.
Staying away on it's own will not be enough unless it's very, very big numbers.

Personal preference would be to make the feelings known inside the ground & educate those around if necessary.
Supporting the team (to help avoid relegation) & every effort to oust the regime can go hand in hand.

Favouring relegation and / or phoenix from the ashes is not an option to my currently ale addled mind.

Staying in the pub & supporting local hostelries during home games is also perfectly acceptable.
Not a stage I'm at. Yet.

Am I the only one who thinks an outside area for people to gather pre match is an absolutely fucking stupid pointless idea?

Why is it needed? Outside of your August & April fixtures (potentially) it’s usually bloody cold.

Who is going to think ‘you know what we should do before the Town game? Go stand outside in the cold & wind (…and possibly rain too) looking at a statue’

No one, ever.

Agreed. A nice to have addition rather than something to focus on right now. I guess it’s all going to be fuelled by “we can make more income from people getting their pre match fix in here instead of elsewhere” but it’s just not going to happen from November through to March.

I'd like to think that a comprehensive analysis of similar clubs' fan zones has proven this to be a worthwhile investment with a likely return which can then be invested into the club. Sadly, I highly doubt that's the case. Not saying it won't work, as a number of other clubs have them. Time will tell.

Haven’t others, say Tranmere for instance included this innovative solution called a roof? Having an open area as has been said is completely pointless for most of the season, it’s no different to what we’ve had recently with burger vans and what not scattered round the car park.

Trouble is the fan numbers are dwindling. Yet again the focus seems to be on anything but the first team. Concerts etc.

I will never begrudge them for trying new things and won't beat them with a stick for trying these things. It's unforunately the things they don't do or the execution of what they try that ends up going wrong.

I would love nothing more than this to be a success

I understand the need to do things to raise funds etc, but for things to get as bad as they have on the pitch seems odd to me.

I’m not even sure it’s a even a ‘nice to have addition’ (outside of the actual statue of the Don)’

I still can’t see what purpose is serves?
Somewhere to sell food & drink where that money goes directly into the club rather than local pubs & Burger King - yeah I see the logic to that but the Legends Lounge* is literally inside our bloody ground.

Anyone who is going to spend their pre-match time & money within club facilities probably already do…

I can see why clubs who maybe don’t have a proper bar area inside their stadium see is at an opportunity to make some extra £££

*I assume the Legends Lounge is club owed & all profits from here are the clubs & it’s not a rented out space to a pub owner who keeps his or her profits after paying the rent…
