Would possibly be on the online planning register if the Council are up to date with their paperwork.

I suspect the council are not up to date, because the most recent planning application covering the CG postcode is from 2023 and we know the fan zone has been approved.

https://pa.swindon.gov.uk/publicaccess/ (can't link to results, but the postcode is SN1 2ED)

Although searching County Ground finds newer things...

Certificate of Lawfulness (Proposed) for the siting of a double toilet block.  20th Aug 2024 - Decision Pending
Change of use from grassed area to dedicated Swindon Town Fan Zone including erection of a statue and low-level hedge & fencing boundary and associated works - 28 Mar approved

So nothing obvious for the shop.

Would it need council approval? That space has always been advertising (well, branded)

Is the middle column with all the aged, peeling Lotto badges still there?!? Christ.

RE advertising - we used to use the corner for roundabout advertising didn't we? McDonalds had one...

On the "forcing the Trust to take action" there *are* provisions in the Trust constitution for an Emergency General Meeting (EGM) - I know because I looked at them reasonably seriously under the last set of board members. The threshold isn't prohibitively high or anything, just would need a bit of organising.

The problem, as Batch has said a few times, is what do you want them to do? I agree generally that I don't love the mood music, but they fundamentally can't do a great deal.

Have just submitted a poll asking members of this forum if they have confidence in the ownership of STFC.  Without predicting the outcome, it should at the very least be useful to the Trust in gauging the collective mood of fans - regardless of whether they are a member of the Trust or not.
