Tracking my brother and his families flight overnight into Bangkok (BKK) airport on my flightradar24 app. Guilty pleasure tracking flights of family and friends i’m afraid. No, I don’t have a drone and i’m Not anywhere near Gatwick either.

Are you Flashheart's brother?

In a word? No. Won’t be able to track my own flight to Barbados in January though. Still why would I? After all i’ll be on it. Hoping to catch one of the Windies matches while I am out there.

Surely you can just track your own using the Flight data screen that are on most planes now? In any case, I'm pretty sure long haul transatlantic flights, are nearly all WiFi capable/offer in flight WiFi?  Hmmm

They have? OMG you mean last years VA flights to Florida where I paid extra to upgrade to Premium Econnomy had this and no one told me? FFS, the bastards. 😉

In Hartlepool (and the north east) the Friday before Christmas is the day the most fights happen in and around the pubs and clubs in town.

Its known locally as Black Eye Friday.

Well it passed yesterday, did you play Bingo?

I'd never heard of the term 'Black Eye Friday' before I read the 'should it be renamed' article on the BBC website yesterday.

A very good friend of mine and a good Swindonian got an MBE for his charity work. Don't like honours but he's had tremendous tragedy in his life and he's used it to help others. A very humble man as well.

Fair play to him.

This is what the Queens honours should be for.
Not for someone who has scored a few goals for England, not yet anyway. You should be proud Chalkies, and I hope the family are to.

To be fair, they largely are. It is just we hear more about the "famous" ones, as the media believe that not many of us are interested in Geoff the Greengrocer from Staithes. He, who has dedicated every evening of his life to the Scouts for the last 40 years.

Over 1140 people have been honoured with over 800 of them being honoured for work within their communities (see Geoff above and Chalkies friend).

So mostly, that is what it's for just a shame the media prefer to cast the light towards the more well known "contributors".

After paying up for a load of stuff at Dunelm this afternoon, it gave me great pleasure when asked by the cashier “can I take your email address?” for me to say politely, “no.” Who do these companies think they are?, I genuinely felt sorry for her to have to ask. Back in the early days most of us would have happily and naively given that over but not anymore

I've had similar discussions.

"Can we have your email address? "
"No, why do you need my email address?"
"So we can send you your receipt"
"Just print it off now and save us all the hassle"

Bet you'd have responded differently if she said  "can I take your number, Mr...Legends"
