I hate it that my kids think 'youtuber' is a job.

Things change. 'Youtuber' is a job, and a potentially very lucrative one at that. It's not only restricted to youtube specifically, of course.

My Dad, a Painter and Decorator, often tells me I don't do a proper job.
Jobs change rapidly.
But, aren't youtubers self employed, making not so much a job as a personal business venture?

Someone fraudulently cleaned out my bank account overnight on Sunday. Thankfully the bank's fraud team were very helpful and I've got most of it back instantly yesterday morning.
Having not felt entirely with it and needing to sleep a lot over the weekend I then got very sick yesterday afternoon and appear to have the stomach virus doing the rounds.
Hopefully next bank holiday is a better one!

It's no more or less a job than being a celebrity, or a TV presenter for that matter. Just a different broadcast platform, and a different way of getting paid.

Spending the last 30 minutes trying to solve a problem which turned out was a ridiculous mistake where I'd somehow typed 33306 instead of 33060.
Trouble is upon realising this bellenderous mistake I then "corrected" it by again typing 33306, cue time spent looking elsewhere for further issues. Fucking knob.

Ah, the old transposition error. If the discrepancy is divisible by 9 then this is normally the error. In this case the difference was 54 which is 6x9. You then know the numbers will be 6 apart, which narrows down your search. 0 and 6, 1 and 7, 2 and 8, 3 and 9.

Exactly. Job = making money for other people. Having your own business = making money for yourself.

I may be wrong, but I don't think Ardilles was trying to make that distinction.

I've had mumps as well. And scabies. Scabies is horrible.
I had scabies, it was dreadful!

I know. My point was (and this is not just aimed at Ardiles in particular) we often tell our kids to get a job and, for example, that they can't be a Youtuber because it's not a job. It's the way I was brought up by my parents too. But as I've grown up I've realised that's the wrong attitude to have, we should actually be educating our kids about how to be creative and add value and generate income in different ways.

My 5 year old wants to be a bee keeper when he 'grows up'. Completely random as he once saw the bee enclosure at stanton.

You should encourage him to be a YouTuber instead, we will still have YouTube by the time he's working

Don't worry our 6 year old wants to be a restaurateur (to the extent of drawing up plans to convert our bungalow into a restaurant and devising a menu!), despite her being an absolute pain to get to eat anything and having little interest in food.
