Hopefully Pitman will replace the heading bit when and if we need to go long ever
That was a bit of a bonus for me when I saw him on the Saturday. I had thought he was under 6 ft (clearly wasn't paying attention) but when standing next to Mildy, who is a giant, he didnt look that much shorter...

Will anyone spare a thought for poor Lee Power? Wasn't it £400k he spunked on Woolery in the reasonable expectation of some return one day?
I doubt they will TBF.

The key question is; where did the rest of the Luongo money go?

Gets zero acknowledgment when it doesn't work out, and gets pelted with accusations when it does.

I think it was Brown confirmed that it wasn't even £100k up front with add ons after league games and promotion etc so not as bad a loss as it sounds. Power has never been scared to put money into a player he thinks the club can get money back on, it doesn't often work, the last one was Norris who we sold to Colchester for the same fee we bought him for.

No but Brown mentioned it in an interview. He was talking about how good a player he was in a pre game interview!

You arent alone. I liked the chap, he offers something different and last season he really did contribute. sometimes his previous reputation stuck and fans never forget. he offered way more than isgrove and stats showed that.
he could have a fantastic game and then do 1 mistake and everything good is forgotten and hes a donkey again.
good luck to him, he helped us win the title last season
Completely agree. As someone else said earlier in the thread (sorry can't be bothered to look back) my opinion of Woolery is a bit like the player, blows hot and cold. But he had a good season on balance last season and got some very useful assists. Best of luck to him.

Absolutely, there is a player in Woolery but no manager has yet found a way of getting it consistantly out of him. I liked Woolery and wish him nothing but success.

It's not like it wasn't in his hands to keep him though, he had to weigh up the contract offer and make a decision on whether an increase was warranted. So ultimately it was his decision to forego the investment, in the same way that it is his decision to sell a player for wonga even if that player is important to the team. No need for sympathy.

Im partly with you on this but i suppose he did get a return as we went up...eventually. As previously posted , he never lived up to expectation. Was it £400K? if £250K, im still a bit Meh about him. He goes with a pat on the back and a sigh of what could of been from me.

How can we genuinely have any sympathy for Power on this (and it isn't a Power bash btw) though? We could easily say "will anyone spare a thought for Standing/Barry or maybe even Clem?!" We know from the court readings that Power shafted Standing/Barry for a decent tune of money and still hasn't given Clem his shares.
Yet I really don't feel that sorry for any of them. They have got involved in borderline dodgy business pursuits knowing full well they can make some circumvented gains but with the high risk of being hustled the fuck out of.
In the main, Power is the winner because he's the one not really losing much of his own money.

Did you read the court papers regarding this? Back on track: closing in on two transfer targets.
