Presume we’re still after another striker. So, if Pitman is Doyle, T Smith is Yates (despite that Wellens says he’s Admiral), what kind of striker would we be after?
Is Pitman likely to remain fit to play the majority of games? We won’t sign a lump, Grigg would be the nearest in style to Doyle, but financially not feasible. Norwood seems too similar to Pitman. We have no loans left so it’ll have to be a perm.
Can’t work this one out.
Well it appears that Donohue will sign, followed by Jordan Stevens next week, I think we will sign another defender as cover and as you state another striker/attacker.
Stevens will use up our last loan place in the squad so we can safely assume that any other players coming in will not be loanees as Wellens won't waste a wage on a loan player who won't be playing as the limit is in the matchday squad is 5.
As for the striker, the only option that brings us something different would be a taller target man style of striker, decent in the air to change things a bit if we need more height on the pitch.
I can't see Wellens getting in yet another quick wide/striker as we currently have a few that fill that role, but if Wellens really doesn't see Tyler as Yates replacement then that could well suggest he wants another in exactly that position, or possibly the roaming number 10.
Stevens plays as a very attacking wide man normally so we will have a few similar, so I can only think he would want something a bit different?
