Post going missing is not trival, however people who whinge to Royal Mail on social media that their 'extremely important, highly valuable parcels' for which they have used the cheapest method of postage available, has gone missing/delayed need a slap
I know what you mean, albeit I still think its abit rich that they charge you a bit more to insure against them losing it!
But mention in dispatches for bloody Parcelforce (not sure if they are still part of RM or not).
They delivered some barge/Fascia boards to us about a month back, just rang the door bell and walked away, when the missus answered the door he shouted your stuffs round the back love and buggered off. Whilst we were not expecting them didn't think much of it as my FiL is a builder and often gets larger stuff delivered to ours as they live up a very narrow lane which makes much above a Transit a ball ache, and they can be stored round the side of ours till he comes and collects them for the job with his trailer.
Mention to him that they have arrived he knows nothing about it, so I go and have a look at the address its for a house with the same name as ours but in an entirely different village 2with a different postcode, so we try and ring Parcelforce, just rings out, email ignored etc! I would drop them round myself but they are way too big for our car and even FiL's trailer.
Oh and while I am ranting
Amazon seem to have now stopped ringing the bell and just dump stuff on the doorstep whether we are in or not or leave it in the shed, only time we know we have a delivery is when the app tells us!
