Those charges are exorbitant. They charge them on the basis that most people have insurance and, therefore, the insurers will foot any inflated bill they deem they can get away with. It’s a giant scam.

I used vets in Ireland on virtually a weekly basis and they charged nowhere near what UK vets charge. Same goes here in Greece, too.

Probably because that's how much it costs to carry out the treatment.

A trite observation would be don't have a pet if you cannot pay for it.

Found the Tory.

Of course, there's absolutely no chance that those people's situation has changed in the last 12 years that dog has been alive. Cock.

Or get insurance. It’s not a secret that vet bills are expensive. Not sure I’d want a cheap one!

They have got insurance according to the story but it won't cover it, which seems to be a recurring theme with pet insurance, its a bloody minefield.

The one slightly peculiar thing is the surgery is going to cost 'up to £1.3k' yet they are seeking to raise £1.5k which whilst I can understand that there might be after care costs seems to suggest they don't want to fund any of it, I imagine they will be binning the insurance now so even if they stumped up a couple of months premium I imagine that would be getting on to £100.

I can say with some experience with our rescue dog that insurance doesn't cover everything and there are substantial additional costs.

Funnily enough, our dog also has to have some dental treatment although the costs are less than those featured in the local news report.  This suggests that we should take greater care of canine oral hygiene.

I think I shared a video from Phil Gaimon the cyclist on here its the same with American health insurance, the prices are very high as they assume insurance are paying (which means it gets paid) but also they know the insurer will beat the price down so they start high, so you are clobbered if self funding.

This is one of a few reasons I don't want a pet.

If you thought 2020 couldn't get any worse, I don't want to worry anyone but Adolf Hitler has just won a regional election in Namibia

I used to work with a white South African called Adolf, and his surname was that of a famous Second World War German General.  I kid you not.  He was only about 30 so no excuses on timing of naming. Wtf were his parents thinking (though I can guess....)

BBCQT allowing the LIE that leaving the EU allowed us to approve the vaccine faster, to go unchallenged.

Something that should not even have been a topic for debate in the first place. No wonder that show's ratings are at an all-time low.
