Seeing Wayne Rooney break onto the scene. Win the lot with Manchester United whilst becoming their record goal scorer & also becoming England’s top goal scorer & most capped outfield player. Then to see him dropping down to Derby looking incredibly old then retiring to take up management all whilst being younger than me was my first real football related ‘fuck, I’m old’

Tbf Rooney looks about 54. Not really a fair bloke to judge anything on.

Weirdly Jody Morris being here as a manager made me feel old. He was a perennial next big thing when I was growing up and getting obsessed with football back in the day.

Yeah that's a good one.

So 1 out.

Wakeling.  21 years old.  Sold ("undisclosed fee").

Disappointed at this juncture, esp. given Austin's age and Young's "recallability".

However, right now, with Rush alongside those 2, I guess If we gain a central defender/defensive midfielder, that could prove worthwhile.

No commitment upstairs to promotion with such a thin squad, given the effects of routine injuries and suspensions.

We can still put out a talented match day squad for now and I can certainly get behind them all and Flynn & coaches.

Nobody in and Wakeling out is beyond frustrating.

It's not a Sandro completely set fire to our season end of window, but fucking hell it isn't great.

The Heirachy do not want promotion as they don't have the money to sustain a higher division squad

To get a fee yet again for a player who lets be honest hasn’t been pulling up trees is good business.  I was more worried about losing RHM, Khan or Hutton so am relieved.  I guess shade scoring on Saturday was enough to convince Flynn that RHM, Young, Austin and Shade will do up top.

Shame nobody inbound but in current financial state no major damage this window.

Always makes me think of this tune... play it and get rid of that ''grrr'' feeling that is another shite {at present} STFC Transfer Window

'...Jesus at the back door
Everything is all right
All we need is some direction
Every time the wind blows
Everything you don't know
Turns into a revelation
And it all adds up inside your head
Time is wasting

Set it off
Set it off now children...'

I am convinced this exact statement has been made every season for the last 10 years.

It's also simply not true as well. In L2, you can get get promoted without spending like Carlisle and earn nearly an extra £1mn in competition money in L1 and not actually add any extra funding to budget.

How big was Carlisle’s squad?
