Doesn't mean they won't in future though, women's attendances vary wildly - Arsenal averaged 28,000 last season but they're a huge outlier. Three WSL sides averaged between 1-2k.

I do think there's a social and community benefit beyond raw commercial implications to bringing the women's team in - same with disability and community teams etc.

I think its worth bearing in mind what appears to be the direction of travel, admittedly this is entirely anecdotal, but a couple of my mates (who have no interest whatsoever in football) missus's (who I suspect would have not even known what football was 5 years ago) have got hugely into football with their daughters and at least one of them now have a family season ticket at Man City (which is quite a schlep for them, probably 45 mins each way to attend games).

Similarly our (now not so) little one started playing girls football about 4 years back and when she started there were about 6 of them in total, she (thankfully as it was getting to the stage of a lot of traipsing her about for games) lost interest after about 12 months but I'm still in the Facebook group etc and they have 5 or 6 teams now all the way through the age range, so I don't think we should under estimate the interest that many be emerging.

I think I worked it out < £10 an hour. This kind of corroborates that costing:
https://commerciallightingcompany.co.uk/sports-lighting/durham/crook

Can't find anything to say they are LED though.

edit: Found conflicting pricing - another source says they are only half the cost. As you were

They have the flexibilty of having, say an 11am ko on a Sunday with the womens team, so can probably negate the need for floodlights.

My understanding is that if the Womens team get promoted, there is much more of an income from the league etc and the club think a womens team at that level would generate cash. So Clem is very keen.
Good objective and ambition. The problem with it is the past two seasons the winning team achieved an almost 100 percent record to get promoted.

What is Munroe going to mean to Kirkman? And also for McGregor?

2 players for each position with flexability is Holloways stated aim. Munro becomes starting left wing back, Kirkman is back up. And a very useful back up that can also cover in the back three, where if you take Ball/Mabete/Wright as the first choice, we only have Delaney and Minturn.

McGregor and Snowdon fighting it out for right wing back.

I would say it a bigger question for Sobowale, who doesn't get near the team as right wing back, i guess he could be considerd a CB. But he's very much one Holloway would have let go in the summer if not under contract, and i see he wasn't involved at Reading.

Holloway was hinting in his interview 2 weeks ago that Fil (Mabete) was going to play a big part as he has something we currently don't have in defence.

He hinted at hime being a bit mental and loving going in hard for tackles and having some pace and that he will have a good a part to play.

He looked it at the start of the access all areas video as he walked past Holloway.

Much like a pepperami, hes a bit of an animal. Thats definately something we have missed in recent seasons, Ofoborh was the closest to that since Grant.

Original for that chant was Nicholas Anelka and it wasn't because he was a monster.....it was because he was over the hill.

Nah, we would have sung that about Ifil whilst Anelka was still decent.

Reckon he won at least a Premier League, 2 FA Cups & Serie A - as well as a golden boot post that song.
