So is this how Holloway is looking at the squad? Not including Delaney, Butterworth, Minturn or the youths here, all of which seem to be available if they can find a move.
Has there been anything to suggest Mabete plays in that role. Forgive me if he has in preseason I just got the impression he lined up either side of the 'Wright' role.

Yeah probably, just space issues really. He was initially reported as being the front-runner for the left side, but that was before TWB was signed. Exactly where they line up is one thing, but you'd imagine the defence will be Wright, one of Clarke or Ball and one of the younger physical defenders. Wright is the one there's no obvious direct cover for, but we'll see. He did play damn near every minute last season, his injury and disciplinary record is phenomonal.

I have a feeling in my water that Holloway is going to go all out and overload the midfield from the off vs Walsall.

Oldaker or Clarke sat in front of the 2 CB's, Clarke offers more defensively but Oldaker offers more distibution.

The line up is very flexible though, but I personally dont think Holloway will risk Tabor and Ameen from the off but will use their fresh legs in the 2nd half of games early season.

Looks pretty much spot on, but maybe Clarke instead of Kirkman

Having had xero game time at Burton this preseason I'd be quite surprised if Bodin goes straight in as a starter on Saturday. Don't think it'll be long but I think he'll initially be on the bench to help make sure he's fully match fit.

I also fully expect Drinan to be an automatic starter if fit as his work rate has been so important to us when we first got out of the doldrums and was exemplified on Saturday when the game completely changed in the 2nd half with him on.

Yes we have a lot of players challenging for positions I guess it will depend upon fitness and how each player has trained this week as to the final actual line up.

It is starting to look a strong squad on paper. I think going forward we look stronger though, particularly if Tabor can perform at this level.

Obviously I really really hope Tabor gets off to a flyer and scores on his debut (hopefully a winner) but if he doesnt then we need to not get on his back at all if he misses a few easy chances.

His head is screwed on right in interviews but we need to ease the pressure and expectation on the lad early on.

Interesting Moonraker article yesterday. The only player we are really keen to secure is a Left Winger than can operate at wing back, no other roles seem urgent for now.

Depends how fit he is after his injury, I guess. When he’s fit, he starts. Holloway loves him!

Yeah Drinan 100% starts. He's actually one of the first names on the team sheet for me as well.

We can run him into the ground for an hour and then bring on Bodin / Glatzel for him when the game opens up.

Does sound ideal that.
