Last season for sure I would have said MK would be all over him, it would have fit on every level.

Not so sure under Warne now though, get the feeling he will want CB’s a bit more defensive minded

If Wright does go (and its his choice obviously) then I would expect it to be to MKD as Crawley (known admirers of him) are stoney broke and I am not sure hes good enough defensively to step up a league at the moment.

But hes a big player for us and he knows he is important so will try and push a good deal, I understand hes easily our highest paid player already.
It would absolutely fit what we've seen from this ownership to sell Wright to MK. To sell to a rival the fee would have to be big (It won't be) or the pay would have to be a significant increase on what we pay (It could be). I would hope that the move would make no sense to all parties due to pay or fee. I'd also imagine Holloway helps him wanting to stay, given what we are told by Swindonian, players are keen to stay, and with what weve heard about Budget you don't imagine they are staying for the £££!

I'm assuming any out's would be down to Holloway to agree and negotiate the fee and add on's etc, not sure there is anyone else that could do it....although AFH would probably have a go and get it all wrong

It rather sums up the state of things that a post, from a pretty reputable source, suggesting that Wright is staying is followed up by a page of posts speculating who the club are going to sell him to!

TBH business to date seems pretty sensible/logical and I wonder to what extent this has the fingerprints of Holloway all over it, someone who actually has a clue how football clubs should work.

I think its more so that if he doesnt sign where he will go.

But every player has his price, and with us its the bare minimum normally asking price that we sell for.

Wright to us as a player could be worth a fair amount, maybe even upwards of £250k+ in the current market but if a bid of say £50k comes floating invitingly under Clems nose like the Bisto kids advert then....."money is money".

Fwiw, Sam Morshead's Moonraker article suggested all the rumoured ones above *apart* from Wright.

Possibly there's just some confusion with Smith getting a new deal.

When you sell one of the few forwards you have on deadline day, while on the team bus on it's way to an away game, you create a bit of a reputation.

I imagine Holloway being a bit more from the Redknapp world, driving around in his BMW or similar car on deadline day trying to wrangle deals himself.

Just a note to whoever updates the list at the front end of this the Nicholls deal is 2 year so he should be on the 2027 list

Updated. Also Oldaker.

Chesterfield midfielder, 8th most minutes for them last season. Two red cards which is interesting, he doesn't actually commit that many fouls statistically but picks up a lot of cards, so wonder if he's a bit gobby? Nothing statistically that impressive about him, but we'll see how he gets on. Passing decent, likes a long shot (another one!).

The more I read about Oldaker, the more similar he seems to Kilkenny. Of course would love to have both but I wonder if IH is thinking of freeing up some budget to reinvest from Kilkenny

If Ofoborh is re-signing as is rumoured, I think putting two and two and making five may indicate a fee being sought for Kilkenny.

If (and we don't know) Kilkenny is by some distance our highest earner, I could see that. I like him, but not sure he's worth big money in the system we're now playing. He'd do well at Notts County...

Where?! I've seen "close" for  Connor Ripley, Aaron Drinan and Paul Glatzel but not Ofoborh.
