Not really - he doesn’t score enough goals

8 goals. It’s not great, but it’s not awful. I’m sure a couple of league two teams will want to take a punt but I wouldn’t be surprised if he wants to drop back down into the National League

Feels like 3 or 4 were pens?

Let's say it how it is. Not good enough if we are serious about getting out of this league.

For me, he's always on the cusp of looking like he's going to get to something but always falls half a yard short.

Tshimanga looked useless when he arrived.  He's not falling over as he did, can be a slippery eel inside the penalty box and delivers a sexy pen. However, he's not really shown well as a wide player as part of a three (though sensational tracking back at Walsall!) and he doesn't score the required no. of goals as part of a two.  (Westley has shown much more of a striker's instinct). I'm not optimistic enough about continuing development from him to want him to stay at this point but fair fcuks to him for his part in our post Colchester recovery.

Let just get this clear, im not saying we should keep him, i think we should absolutely stay clear of him but all im saying is that he's probably shown enough to stay in League Two. If Hallam Hope can remain in League Two, i dont see why Tshimanga cant.

Under Clem, it's pretty clear we arent serious about getting out of this league...

Money probably comes into it as well. There will probably be a few mid to lower end league two clubs willing to take him on.

Theres plenty of strikers in league one and two that don’t score many goals but have a football league career.

Dont forget that we have our own case of this in Drinan who’s scored 3 goals in 1,695 minutes this season but we’d probably be okay with him sticking around as a squad player next season.

Not that I’d keep either of them if I was serious about going up.

Same could be said for Nichols, but we are likely to offer him a deal

Unless your one of the top premiership clubs once you get past your starting eleven your into the journeymen or young inexperienced players which = inconsistency. I haven’t checked but would imagine the likes of Bradford. Walsall and Doncaster will have similar players in their squad.

Its wierd, Tshimanga has contributed way more in goals and assists than Nichols yet almost to a man nobody wants Tshimanga to stay but most seem fairly happy with Nichols.

Tshimanga 6 goals 3 assists 31 games
Nichols      1 goal 2 assists  13 games

Both were/are probably on fairly similar wages with both arriving from league 1 teams.

I am not a massive fan of Nichols apart from glimpses of quality like he showed on Saturday, but fully agree that we need a player of his ilk to play the system we do.  He is a massive downgrade on Dan Kemp (most are) but for me we should at least be aiming for somewhere in between, and we should be able to do better - but in the Morfuni era, these downgrades have become the norm.  If Nichols is it then I would rather him than Tshimanga as he plays a role that very fews others can in this squad.

Ollie seems to love him too, which I guess is a pretty important factor.

He's been OK. Like you say the odd flash of quality, but doesn't influence the game enough for me.

Pretty much this for me too, Ollie also loves Tshimanga though and says hes a model pro and does everything asked of him in games.

In an ideal world where we're competitive, i'd happily let both leave but in this Clem era I'd take Nichols over Tshimanga. He's not been great but he has a lot more to his game than Tshimanga. In a promotion challenging side, he's a decent squad player to have.
