Bit of a random query, and I'm conscious we've seen a lot more of one of the players than the other, but anyway.
If you had the choice next season to pick up just one of Westley or Tshimanga on a free agent signing, (assume their parent clubs release them) who would you choose?

Do they cost the same amount for the purposes of this question?
Because I'm assuming based on career stages Tshimanga gets paid a fair bit more than Westley today.

Westley - As a punt. We've seen what Tshimanga adds and, quite frankly, I think there are better out there.

Westley would be the better choice.

Westley.
Younger, higher ceiling, better instincts in the box.
However, unless we are going 442 with wingers and a Smith & Westley partnership or a 433 with two proper wide forwards & Westley central I feel he’d be a bit of a wasteful signing. Purely based on shape & tactics.
We’d have to build around his play in the box (…and little else) we’d have to potentially drop Smith (unless he’s hypothetically been sold at this point ) & get some proper wide forwards in. Not sure we’d do all of that off the back of getting Westley on a free tbh.
He hasn’t played loads but Westley almost feels like a striker of a bygone era. Like you put him upfront with Paul Benson with Matt Richie & Simon Ferry behind him in midfield & I think he’d get shit loads.

Yeah if we want to play similarly to how Holloway sets up now we need some wide forwards- Westley, Glatzel & Tshimanga all feel like they want to play centrally but in this system you need to be able to play like Harry Smith to do that role.
Ameen probably too early to say, Drinan has adapted well to that role. Nichols seems to be playing that deeper link role, I'm not convinced he's the answer but it's a different role.
I'd be tempted to clear out all of them and get some proper wing forward types with a bit of pace and trickery.

I’m sure Holloway has it in his locker to play different ways but whilst Smith is here - he will be the focal point.
Which means 442 or 433 with Smith centrally imo.
Westley, Glatzel & Tshimanga all feel more like 2 upfront strikers than 3 up front wide strikers.
Drinan probably the only who suits wide striker based on his effort & endeavour rather than pace & trickery. Whilst his absence hasn’t been a team changing devastating blow - I do think he’s been missed.

Plus an old fashioned winger to supply criosses into the box.

Westley. Although we haven't seen a huge amount from him, i think he's definitely worth a punt. His position has been good to score his goals. If we can add some pace next season he could get a few more.
A part from that spell a month or so ago, i think Tshimanga's been useless.

100% none of them are natural wide strikers and would all benefit from playing in a 2 up front system IMO.

Sorry, yeah the hypothetical would be the outlay would be the same. FWIW I'd also go for Westley, we've obviously not seen a great deal of him but I'd be more than happy if we were to be able to sign him as one of our 'project' forwards.

I think Tshimanga gets released by Peterborough and ends up back in the National league where he probably does ok, but nothing like his super goalscoring feats at Chesterfield. I do think he's improved, but not enough for us to warrant trying to sign him, personally.

Over the past couple of months, i think he's probably just about done enough to stay in League Two. I could definitely see him playing for a club like Barrow or Harrogate.

Not really - he doesn’t score enough goals
