I hold Phipps view in very high regard Indeed.

I've never warmed to him to be honest, probably because he gave Clem a lot of slack.

But he's got a decent business pedigree.

If we've all converged at the same place surely that strengthens the argument to those that aren't in board.

He’s flipped and flopped like a fish out of water, now trying to paint himself as a hero and in agreement… He’ll be back to being pro-Clem next week knowing his track record.

I think there's a lot to be said for welcoming former opponents into the fold. He doesn't need to be morally pure, he needs to be a credible figure with the right message.

You could say that about anyone.   If I had the choice between winning the lottery or seeing swindon stay up there would be only one winner....me!

I knew Phipps years ago, he was a good lad.  It's been a while, and I am not going to knock someone who is out for personal success.  I like what he has said, I think some of what he said in the past tried to play the politics of it all a little too much.

For sure welcoming the views but let it be known Phipps wasn’t interested in setting a timeline post Open Letter to review and was pretty aggressive regarding it, he wasn’t in favour of a teeth bearing tone in the 6 month review, was more worried about his friendships with the OSC and the Business Group than holding Clem accountable and representing the fans.

There’s a porky to why he left to Trust but the amount of times I heard Phipps brag about how he was going to Clem he’s finished only to bottle it, I honestly lost count. He operates like a populist politician with a rather over inflated ego IMO.

Had he had stuck to the views he expressed in the article consistently whilst in the Trust, Spirit of 69 might not have felt compelled to start what they have started from overwhelming desire for it.

Agree, i like James. When i spoke to him before joining the Trust he was disappointed as much as we are that Clem was obviously not who he had presented himself to be.

He will not be everyones cup of tea but he would have been trying to get the best for the club

Please don't take this the wrong way but can you give examples. From my understanding until now we have not heard from any of the trust showing their teeth so im interested why James Phipps should have?

Just think the fans deserve to hear what these differences actually are rather than just hearing the reasons he left are not true, what were they for example?

"Just had some bloke next me who said he’s on the advisory board meetings waffling on about how the trust are the problem, how they apparently owe money to the club, how they’re poison and how Clem isn’t the problem… fucking boring delusional waffle 🥱" from someone at the game today.
