What's the rumour? That Sky are paying Holloways wages and filming him with a view to make a documentary as part of his 1,000th match celebration?

It's been a while since we've had something juicy to talk about!

You'd think a Sky documentary crew would have been noticed loitering around, although you never know. Maybe something has been arranged for the 1000th game, as part of a documentary of his career, and someone has got wind? Or maybe it's complete bollocks?

Something like that. I assume the implication is we appointed Holloway because the money for the doc was useful.

While nothing would surprise me, this is a rare rumour that I'm putting into the nonsense pile until proven otherwise. Normally its the other way around!

I’d say it’s entirely possible Sky have approached the club about documenting Holloway’s 1,000th game now after the fact we’ve appointed him.

If Sky were desperate enough for an Ian Holloway 1,000th game documentary that they’d financially facilitate it then why haven’t they done so in the previous 4 years he’s been out of work?

…and whilst our owners are well….our owners.
I don’t believe that there hasn’t been any other team in the FL that would taken on IH for 11 games for a financial incentive in the last 4 years…

A few things

Sky would not risk fucking up their multi billion pound premier league and EFL deals by breaking the rules for a relatively insignificant Ian Holloway documentary.

Many TV media outlets pay current players and mangers to be pundits - not for being managers
Clubs get paid to be filmed all the time

The documentary may happen, Holloway is a name and media friendly and club are desperate for positivity and cash but to suggest sky influenced the decision or pay his wages is total guff.

Not buying that one. Could believe as mentioned above that Sky are interested in some sort of media piece post us appointing him and someone has heard that and got their wires crossed.

Sounds more like pub talk rumours.

On the second point, the Nigel Eady funds had to be included in the accounts (which were prepared by local accountants UHY Ross Brook, not fair game) as the club did actually receive that money to pay for the stadium.

You can argue about the quality of the Fair Game report but not for getting a fact correct.

I think I mentioned it earlier in the month.
What we have to be careful of is the catch 22. We boycott they can't sell as potential owners think it could go the same way for me.
We continue to attend they keep getting the money.
Surely we have to be vocal and visual at the displeasure. Back the team but not the owners and let them hear it.

Read somewhere the link has been deleted.

I hope this comes across better than it does and i in no way mean this to offend anyone as they really are all great people but it's fucking annoying when things are being published in the press or on podcasts that could really open a lot of peoples eyes but ends up being deleted.

Publicity of fans concerns is the way to go.
Catch 22 is how I would describe our predicament.
On a personal level I feel we'll end up out of the league whether 5k or 8k attend. I just don't want to give them any more money.
