Astounded by the 2021 power boycott letter from the Trust. I must have seen the headline (and acted) but missed the wording at the time. Autoreplace Power with Clem and let's get our club back

Perhaps that what they meant by the grass not always being greener; we've replaced Power with Clemente and although I'd prefer neither, I know which of the two I would prefer

Reply from the trust: think it’s clear that they won’t be pushing a Clem out narrative until they are pushed out of the club.

Joe

We are now picking up the email traffic to get everyone a response and in so doing, as volunteers not a fulltime representative, We have to be able to respond efficiently so please forgive me if I cover other points as well as those you raise. A totally bespoke email as this one is logistically impossible to deal with all the enquiries!

The Trust has no direct control or lever upon the ownership or football related matters - as explained in last email we can only exert influence where we can.

We are not the previous board but a new one. You can only judge us by our own actions and approaches. We also have to represent all members - some demand direct action others were for instance quite critical of our Open Letter considering it way too aggressive.

We will shortly update members upon the review of our Open Letter - which we sought to judge at end of September thus giving Club time to address some of the issues. We are currently having some direct conversations with the Chairman (to which he is engaging). Then we will issue an update of our views.

If the Trust is cut off from its contacts from the Owner where does that leave us - all on outside with no means to try to exert influence and give advice. We are not supporting the "current regime" we are trying to get them on the right pathways.

Best wishes

I listened to over an hour of the Lower League Look podcast last night dedicated to STFC.  I've not done that before, and have to say I was quite impressed.  The feeling I'm getting from there & elsewhere is that fan sentiment is reaching a tipping point.

It’s also noticeable how everyone outside the club, supporters of other teams can see the problems and see that things clearly aren’t right yet a lot of our fans still can’t see it.

The host who’s a Bradford fan I think was also pretty critical of the Trust agreeing with the conflict of interest view point and the fact they don’t seem to be representing their members.

The most worrying thing in general is the decreasing interest people have in the club, we are clearly drifting towards an existential threat.

He was very diplomatic.  So stopped short of asking 'When are you lot going to get off your arses and actually do something?'  But you could tell that's what he was thinking.

The Trust, unfortunately, has lost sight of its central mission/purpose of holding the Club to account.  The 'we have to represent all members' excuse is a charter to do nothing until it's too late.  (I also have concerns that the JV Agreement they're party to has compromised their independence.)  The OSC do a great job doing what they do - but they're not a campaigning organisation.  So there will need to be another group or body that the fans will need to coalesce around to make their feelings known, I feel.

I do think the Trust has a difficult balancing act - before the ground purchase it really was just a vehicle for fan frustrations. Now it has a bit of a mixed role - not sure either side of it helps the other.

I know the joint venture is allegedly arms length but i don't think it would work that way in practice if the Trust went to war with the club.

There's a chunk of our fans who deserve relegation to non league. Can they not see it?

That's exactly my point.  The act of signing the JV Agreement has affected their ability to represent their members in other ways.  The Trust leadership will have developed working relationships with people at the Club as a result of the JV Agreement, making it far less likely that they would feel comfortable confronting those same people if they had to.

Unfortunately, I can't remember any of this being discussed at the time.

I think I asked this last time. What exactly are people wanting the trust to do?

I get communicate with members. I get updates required on open letter. I get we are all unhappy and the Trust may be seen not to pass this on.

But I'm not sure how they drive change. Do they divorce from the Mourfuni administration and try and find an alternative - which isn't easy.

I don't know.

It’s probably very unrealistic, but I’d like them to completely cut ties, other than the JV, and even with that, I’d like them to say they won’t be agreeing to any redevelopment under their ownership.

Tell them you have no confidence in them, won’t be attending any more advisory board meetings, and other than receiving rent payments for the ground, want no role with them.

It's just a shame the guy who runs it is such an attention seeking twat. He thrives off Swindon's downfall. It literately his whole thing. Didn't Ryan Whelan sack him from his publication last year...

It's that bradford fan isn't it? complete moron. spent most of the other day trying to tell swindon fans on twitter Lindsey did a great job for us and was forced out by fans. nothing like re-writing a bit of history.
