I wonder how many people will enter the store. Less than 5? Or is this a sign they expect business?

I'm not shooting you, I believe it all - I mean, lets be honest, it's barely the minimum expected.

1) A Managerless club for months should have sorted itself out by now
2) We don't have very many players, and we seem to be a club that churns them at a rate of knots, so adding multiple is par for the course, it's an issue about where we go shopping though
3) It's only a few weeks until pre season training will get back underway, you'd hope some friendlies were organised
4) I doubt it was a big profit, but you wouldn't run an event to lose money, you would hope!

None of the above changes anything about the course we are ploughing.  It was only back in January that we overhauled the squad and changed Manager, which was only a few months after we did it before, which was only a few months, and so on.

Thank you for posting this by the way. Regardless of if it’s proven true or not, it’s nice to have some rumours that are padded out and not “wait and see next week👀”.

Even if I am a sceptical person, if you can’t post rumours (as well as an asterix that it’s just what you’ve heard and not to take as gospel) on a fan forum with thread title including “25% truth, 80% bollocks” then where can you.

I'm not having those gigs making money at all. There was hardly any fucker there and nobody could get a drink.

Stinks of laundering.

I think Bathford also alluded to the Trust having been met in relation to this ground breaking news.  If that is true, and this is the extent of the "news", then I do hope the Trust said a monumental "so fucking what".

Agree.

James Watt seemed to intimate there was 5,000 through the gates over the weekend. I wonder how many might have been comps.

I just can't see how they would have made money on those attendances tbh, even if everyone paid full whack which they know they didn't. The acts wouldn't have been that expensive, but there were a lot of them and a lot of associated costs

They haven't made bugger all on them but i'm sure the books will say otherwise.

Running something and making an effort is at least a potential sign of progress.  BUT, running an event for 5k people, that you can only do once or twice a year at best because it relies on using the pitch, really doesn't suggest much of an impact, even if you get it right.  Once you pay for the acts, the costs of running it (whether direct or via a promoter who takes that on), the margin has to be slim.  As you are using a football stadium, you'd think running a football or stadium usage event would be better - get 10k through the gate for one extra game and you increase your revenue by about 5-10% (given everyone will be pay on the day), plus the operating costs will be less and it's something you can do without outside help (as it's what you do already).

I sort of applaud the fact someone had an idea, not so much the idea.

Is it possible they just rented out the venue to the promotion company, and therefore didn’t take on the risk of small crowds?

Would obviously limit the amount of profit you could make, but means you aren’t going to lose out.

Pretty sure they confirmed it was done themselves rather than rented.
