My son (then about 6 or 7) and a young girl got hit on the back by a chair thrown by our own fans at Wycombe. The dad of the girl was not best pleased and stormed up the steps to the coward who made themselves invisible.
Appreciate it wasn't intended, but it could have been like this.

Another club gets a transfer embargo for the next 3 transfer windows. Sheff Weds failing to pay their staff wages on time again. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/articles/c70xzzy9dpkoThe restrictions will prevent the club from carrying out any transfers or loans which involve a fee for this summer's window and the two in 2026.
That restriction is currently running alongside the registration embargo which was imposed a fortnight ago, preventing the club from signing any new players, even free transfers, until they have paid outstanding wages in full.

Nico Williams has told Barcelona he wants to join them from Athletic Bilbao but the Spain winger, 22, has demanded that he is able to be registered to play, which could mean Barca have to sell players first, in order to meet La Liga's financial requirements.
I know they had this problem with Olmo who sat unregistered for half a season but surely no player needs to request they are actually allowed to play for the club they join, utterly ridiculous scenario.

It's the big problem when they've let the big two in Spain run themselves into an absolute shitstorm of debt with no bank willing to call them on it, Madrid at least seem to have their ducks somewhat in a row but Barca are just fucked for the forseeable, having payday loan'd themselves up to the eyeballs to pay off some pressing debts. It's not gonna be too long before a relatively big team goes pop and then the transfer fee installment dominoes will start to fall. French league already calling a few of their 'big' teams on financial gubbins.

I’ve been following the World Club Championship in the USA. Last night the Chelsea game was suspended for 2 hours after 86 minutes because of the weather. Not an isolated case either - that was the 9th game that had to be suspended.
Bearing in mind the World Cup is being held there next year at the same time, in the same locations/stadia as now it could become farcical.

Farcical seems to be one of the key criteria for FIFA these days. Questionable human rights? Tick Desert conditions? Tick Extreme weather events? Tick Matches on opposite sides of a huge ocean, forcing some teams to make a 5 hour time difference adjustment mid-tournament? Tick I look forward to World Cup 2034 in Norway, Antarctica, Australia and New Zealand, giving the players a unique opportunity to experience both extreme cold and extreme heat throughout the tournament, and ensuring matches can be played 24/7 to squeeze in the 128-team group stage. To be honest, I can't believe nobody's thought of it before.

Thing is the whole thing (plus the requirement to have the CWC as a warm up the year before) has become so bloated that realistically how many countries (or even realistic regions) will have the resources/infrastructure/stadia to actually hold it in the future, I suspect its going to become very reliant on oil states building white elephant stadia for winter WC's going forward. On the climate thing I did see suggestion that next year could end up being a winter one as its been proven to be so hot in the US this summer, at least having games in northern US/Mexico and Canada could give a fantastic range of temperatures for a winter WC....

Also, Qatar wants to host the 2029 Club World Cup, and do it in the winter again, like that World Cup over there! Brilliant, another interrupted season, this time for the presigious CWC.

Grown fucking men hitting the deck and rolling around on the floor after a gentle caress of the face during a tackle. I got head butted, my forehead split open and was effectively out on my feet but still stayed standing and fought back during a fracas at work one day. Fucking embarrassing. Yes I watched the Inter Milan/ Fluminese game

Come on it's obviously going to be hosted by Israel in a new complex built in northern Gaza. That's the obvious next move to top the FIFA WTF are they thinking o-meter
