Palace kicked out of the Europa League to the Conference League because their previous owner fucked up some paperwork around multi-club ownership, to be replaced by Nottingham Forest (who also have a multi-club owner, just one that apparently can fill in forms correctly).

Multi-club ownership is a fucking scourge, and the rules daft. RB Salzburg and Leipzig were in the same group last year!

Feel for the Palace fans.

Is there actually that much difference between the two competitions though? I genuinely have no idea but I imagine in both, you get to play quite a few games against some obscure and some quite well known, big teams with a reasonably realistic shot at a trophy at the end of it. Back in the day, there wasn't much to separate the UEFA Cup and Cup Winners Cup... it was all much of a muchness (in my mind anyway)...

It is rough on them, I'm sure they're gutted but they'll now be one of the favourites to win the Conference which would still be an incredible journey.  Still a tough one to take given it is Lyon who are in financial trouble and Palace have been one of the best run clubs for quite a while now.

Really enjoying the PSG v Chelsea final, but . . .

Why can’t they kick off on time - 15 minutes late. And not for the first time.

And half time is going on and on with some shite music acts must be nearly 30 minutes

Hope this isn’t a sign of the times for the World Cup next year

Fucking Trump at Half Time as well. ‘I’m having a really great time’

Fuck off you buffoon.

Surprised at the score.

Not watched a minute of this comp or the women's euros. But good to see the English doing well.

Morecambe apparently have 2 days left for their owner to sell the club.

Otherwise they’re toast.

If players aren't paid tomorrow they can walk. So even if they somehow but a bit of time with leagues (unlikely) they are up a creek.

Reasonable article here: https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2025/jul/16/morecambe-fc-football-club-takeover-crisis-fans-supporters

Latest from their Trust, National League not covering themself in glory albeit, TBF, they have inherited the problem from the FL, seems odd that the buyer who has, apparently, lent them so much money is still not kicking off with legals, I do fear there is a bit of Mr Frying Pan meet Mr Fire there!

The guy is worth millions and owns several successful businesses. He's a damn sight more fit and proper than many club owners

One is the EFL Trophy of Europe, the other is the FA Troohy of Europe. It's definitely a step down.

I am surpised nobody mentioned about Swanseas new part owner Snoop Dogg.

Again it shows that people with money are very willing to invest in football clubs.

I only put it in "whats wrong with football" because why cant we get someone like that? or maybe we can Wink
