I am pretty sure in an interview previously with "Shawwwwwwwnnnnnnn" that Power stated previously it was worth about £1m to £1.5m more to a club in L1 as to in L2, not sure what it was based upon though.

You would think that would be based on the (in this case wrong) assumption that we would have crowds around 6-7k in league 2 and significantly higher in league 1. I'm sure there must be more trickle down from premier league TV payments too mind....

A quick Google suggests League Two clubs get around £200,000 less than League One clubs in terms of 'solidarity payments' and I think a similar gap in what clubs get as a 'basic award' payment, so there's £400k for you. Then I suppose you factor in the difference in sponsorship revenue, away ticket sales etc and it's fairly easy to see how you'd hit £1m+ over the course of a season.

That makes sense, definately.

Retained list

PLAYERS UNDER CONTRACT FOR 2022-23:

Already contracted for the 2022-23 season are: Ricky Aguiar, George Cowmeadow, Ben Gladwin, Ellis Iandolo, Harry McKirdy, Harrison Minturn, Louis Reed, Lewis Ward, Jonny Williams.

The Club have also taken up the years contract option on: Mohammad Dabre.

PLAYERS OFFERED NEW CONTRACTS:

The Club have offered new contracts to Mathieu Baudry, Mandela Egbo, Harry Parsons, Akin Odimayo, Jack Payne and Jojo Wollacott, whilst the Club remain in talks with Rob Hunt.

PLAYERS NOT OFFERED NEW CONTRACTS:

The Club have released: Dion Conroy, Ryan East, Emmanuel Idem, Jayden Mitchell-Lawson.

LOAN PLAYERS RETURNING TO PARENT CLUBS:

Whilst loan players Louie Barry, Brandon Cooper, Josh Davison, Jake O’Brien and Joe Tomlinson have all returned to their parent Clubs.

OTHERS:

Jordan Lyden remains within the fold as the Club continues to monitor the player's progress since being injured in February.

That seems broadly as per rumours - slightly interest that the phrasing around Hunt is different to Payne and the others.

Oh, and Reed and Williams are already under contract!

Reed and Williams under contract (options or whatever, don't care).

While that's no guarantee we won't get offers, its great news (as was reported by some here)

With regards to Hunt, does the wording mean we are haggling over certain details while the rest have been offered take it or leave it deals?

Interestingly (although less importantly than Reed/Williams), Parsons is listed as having been out of contract, which wouldn't have been what was reported before.

It reads that way, unless its an improved contract - but then why list it.

I don't recall the original Parson's announcement TBF

Oh yeah, 2 year

Extremely happy with that. Williams and Reed being here next season would be outstanding. Reed especially.

I don't think its options, because it says below they've taken up an option on Dabre. They must have signed an extention prior to the end of the season.

And DOB in mourning.

Joking aside I wouldn't really disagree with any of the decisions made by the club. Getting Jack Payne to sign a new deal I think could be a massive statement of intent by the club. Him, Reed and Williams will be key players for a promotion tilt next season.

If I’m repeating some else’s comment.

Conroy has gone.
