I snuck watching Threads on my black and white TV when I was a kid, as I wasn't allowed to watch it (obvs).

Didn't effect me at all.
Reminds me of a kids program in the 70s called Changes which left me scared of pylons for a while!

I have only watched a bit.

"we" were all fooled at first.

I've not got to the bit where the allegations are coming out and covered up. not looking forward to it

Even as a kid I despised Saville, nothing to do with any possible wrong doing he just came accross as a slimy know it all bullying bloke.

Rolf Harris though...now that was totally different, he was the only one I was shocked by.

They are car crash TV these Exposés but compelling.

Sure I have mentioned this before, a mate of mine is a sparky and did a hell of a lot of work at Stoke Mandeville in the early 90's, he used to tell us that female nurses were very vocal that they would do whatever necessary to avoid being in a room alone with Savile and would likewise do everything in their power to avoid him being allowed access to female patients of any age.

If it was being discussed openly with third party contractors then the question remains why was nothing done, albeit the documentary goes into great detail regarding his very close links with government and the royal family, so perhaps my question is a stupid one.

Yes there must have been one almighty cover up at a very high level.

Back in the 90s my wifes cousin who has a lot of connections with the freemasons said he was told (after we had about 5 bottles of Bollie) and said something about Saville and lots of high ranking people at a childrens homes including one in Jersey including Cyril Smith and Ted Heath, and a few others which has proved to be correct too.

We have no idea about what historical abuse was suffered its utterly sickening.

We binged most of this last weekend. You are right enough the similarities with the Sinner. It's enjoyable enough.

It does jump around the timelines and can be a bit confusing at times, but I gotta thoroughly enjoyed it.

Yeah, it's one of the dramas that doesn't put the date/location on screen when it's jumping about but I think they just about get away with that.

Watched the Gazza documentary on iplayer. Poor bloke hounded by the press, wife/gf reporting to tabloids...

I learnt/confirmed a few things. On his day, Gazza was one of the best. Gazza liked a drink. Piers Morgan is a cunt.
