I don’t think you can pick and choose which convicted murderer should die and which shouldn’t.

It’s letting them out early that gets my goat - or at all.

I have no doubt that this Sharif fella is highly unlikely to murder again so it’s retribution really.

All that said, I’d shed no tears for him.

Yeah, let's wrap him up in cotton wool ffs. Cunt deserves whatever he gets. Shame the world is so soft these days.
Let's have sympathy for the victim  not the perp.

This.

It's one of those weird quirks of the law that if the police damage your home in the act of searching it, they're very unlikely to have to pay for the damage unless you can basically prove they were deliberately smashing the place up. You think it would just be standard procedure to pay for damage, at least if nothing criminal was found.

Like that🙂... Love Weller and seen him live loads of times. He does take himself quite seriously though so I think that to have Noel gently taking the piss out of him is good for him...

It astounds me how we can get from the horse and cart 150 years ago, to this.

You're comparing two different things. In transport we've moved from the horse and cart to the airliner in that time.

Our energy sources started with burning carbiniferous material over 150,000 years ago and is still largely the same unfortunately.

It's amazing how quickly things move. Moore's law essentially said competing power (transistors on chip) doubles every 2 years.. Held for at least 50 years.

My favourite example of technical advancement is in military aviation

Lancaster first flight - Jan 1941
Vulcan first flight - August 1952

Both designed by Roy Chadwick.

Imagine that, 11 years from prop bomber to high flying near Mach 1 jet. That's a hell of a transition.

It when I stop & consider that mankind went from the Wright Flyer to "that's one small step for man..." within many peoples lifetime that technological growth really blows my mind.
