Absolutely, if only everything worked so well - my train was cancelled this morning for example, but that's definitely for the other thread!
I had a similar experience back in march. The whole process was incredibly quick and stress free from start to finish. And yet (going off on a bit of a tangent) this summer we will again hear horror stories on the news of how long it is taking for passports to be processed, families will not be able to go on a holiday etc.... because everyone is applying at once as they have not planned in advance and it will be a 'national disgrace' according to some...

Any interaction with central government in UK is a breeze - one thing we have nailed in this country imo.

Even dealing with the tax man is a piece of piss now. Sometimes the wait is bad if you have to speak to them on the phone but normally because you and everyone else is doing something last minute.

There are little shit lords but that's the same no matter where you work or have to deal with people.

I worked in the civil service for 10 years. It's run no better or worse than any other private corporate entity of similar size (again imo), just the money is shite

I joined in 2006 so missed the final salary one. Still a DB pension though so it's pretty good. Reckon I will do better out of my Nationwide pension, simply because my wages are that much higher that the pot is growing much faster.

I think this is where the CS (and local government) is really struggling, in the past the quality of the pension was a pretty good incentive for those who had plenty of experience and were good at the job to stick with it where whilst they may have got a better salary in the private sector the pension was never so good. Now anyone half decent leaves and moves into the private sector ASAP.

The money really is fucking shit. A Network/Cyber Security engineer for Mi5/Mi6 would be the same grade as I was when I left and I was on less than £30k then Cheesy

Arsenal Women consistently get really good numbers, 35k or so or more which probably puts them in the top 10 for attendance men or women. I think it's quite a different crowd to the mens team as well, not just the same people going to both.

Shows what is possible at the top at least, even if the depth isn't there in women's football just yet.

I don’t really follow the women but noticed Man Utd v Crystal Palace today was played at Leigh Sports Village Stadium attendance 4,761 so was wondering if Arsenal ladies only play at the Emirates in the really big games.
