That stupid fucking whistle at the end of McDonald's ads
The fact that it sticks in your mind, winds a few people up, and you can recognise it even if you don't see the ad, indicates that from a advertising standpoint, it's anything but stupid.. it's done exactly what it was supposed to do.

Is it the whistle before the 'I'm lovin it' thing? Yeah brilliant job by the McDonalds marketing/ad guys there. Actually whilst on the subject of fast food, I'm got a social thing tonight and want to try a Louisiana chicken place called 'Popeyes'. Has anyone eaten there before? I like spicy fried chicken and so hopefully it's properly spicy and tender.

Popeyes are one of my customers through work, actually owned by RBI who own Burger King and Pizza Hut, amongst others. I have only tried them in the US and wasn't impressed, however I caveat that by saying that everytime i have tried a brand in the US, it has always been much better elsewhere around the world. Always more greasy/suger filled in the US i find.

Had Popeyes in the US and was very underwhelmed. Had strips though the burgers or "chicken sandwiches" as the yanks would say are meant to be better.

Popeye's are essentially like KFC - you really shouldn't go expecting a decent meal, not without a few beers inside you. They all have their place though, well, Hardee's and Checkers do not fil me with confidence, nor Wendy's for that matter.

I mean fast food is never going to be 'healthy' but the yanks really take adding shit to their food to the next level. Had Popeyes in the US and was very underwhelmed. Had strips though the burgers or "chicken sandwiches" as the yanks would say are meant to be better.
Thanks Chalky. I was going to go for the spicy chicken burger I think. Recent google reviews have been fairly positive so fingers crossed! haha, I am 100% not expecting a decent meal. We very very rarely venture into fast food territory and the alternative is a burger in a bowling alley, which is almost certainly a small step up from a microwave 'rustler' burger. There is the usual places at Sixfields and I know Popeyes is fairly new so thought it as good as anywhere else.

I used to love Checkers burgers when we used to go on holiday to the states!

Wendy's (another of my customers) in the US was absolutely rank IMO, in the UK it was pretty nice, for fast food. Five Guys (another of my customers) the same, US pretty terrible, UK much better although stupidly expensive for what it is. KFC exactly the same, and what the hell is the it will not selling fries with their chicken in the US, i know mash is the Southern thing to do, but at least have the choice. I know this makes it sounds like I am the fountain of knowledge on take away's and that is all i eat, but my days and brain is taken up talking about these customers on a daily basis, so it's bound to rub off.

Isn't it supposed also to get people to buy it? Hasn't worked for me but I get asininity works for many people when it comes to advertising So I guess you're right
