I cant say im that bothered if im honest,I would rather we sign someone from the uk league's.

DW obviously thought he wasnt the man we needed so I respect his decision, we have others lined up.

If it's not right its not right.

But I am worried now. Paynter isn't always effective. Macklin is learning, isn't a striker and isn't quite ready yet (IMHO). And plan B is,erm, Amankwha?

Announced on the radio that hes been returned and not signing for us mate.
i got told before kick-off, didn't realise they'd announce it at half-time so wanted to give people the heads up (oh and appear to be ITK and all that)

oh well, if he's not good enough then he's not good enough. unless it's a smokescreen...

Rumours on the radio of some young striker from Lillestrøm (I immediately thought of you with your Norwegian links Wink ) and a youngster who is a high scoring Youth team player at Fulham (I think it was Michael Uwezu) were mentioned on the radio.....probably BS but we will see.

i think this is getting stupid now it doesnt take 3 months to find a striker capable of scoring goals if paynter gets injured then hes going to have to do what he has been trying to avoid and thats rush to sign a player we should have had a few players lined up well cox was talking to west brom, we cannot go into the season with 1 striker they have already put pressure on the team and the season hasnt even started yet

I'm more than a bit concerned. Its not like this has suddenly jumped up on them either, they've known since the end of last season that we'd only have 1 striker on the books and should have sorted out at least 1 signing by now.

Unless it forces Fitton in to splashing more cash than he was planning to, which wouldn't be a bad thing.

I'm still not worried, and I wont be worried until 3pm next Saturday.
Wilson isn't stupid, he knows what we need and I trust him to get it.
No-one knows what is going on behind the scene's (sp), no-one knew anything about this keeper signing and I expect us to have at least 1 striker in by Saturday.

Sorry, but thats retarded. How the fuck are they meant to sort out a deal if the player doesn't want to come, isn't good enough or whatever? Do you seriously not think at least one striker has been a fairly high priority since the end of last season?

That's a stupid thing to say. Clearly it does take 3 months or we'd have one. What do you think they're doing, amusing themselves at the thought of starting the season with one striker? Sure it could be said that all strikers are "capable" of scoring goals, but we don't need a Sabin and if it was so easy to find a striker capable of scoring many goals, the leagues would be over run with 20 goal strikers.

Clearly our football management staff have spent all summer playing Wii connect4 and have only just noticed we need more strikers in the past couple of weeks. However, we as fans have to take our share of the responsibility for not repeatedly pointing out the likely deficit. Again and again and again.

Yeah, but we only have one striker paul and Wii is not valid excuse.

Would anyone be happier if we signed Jamie Constable and Charlie Griffin?
