The point at which the lowest proportion of the 16 to 65 UK population was in employment (since the great depression anyway) was 1983.

Guess who'd been Secretary of State for employment  for the previous 2 years?

Fucking odd how the UK population suddenly comes over all workshy every time some economically illiterate ideologue tanks the fucking economy isn't it?
