"Boring Bob Grover" the lead singer of the 70s and 80s band The Piranhas still touring from his Brighton home until recently. He was never the same after suffering from arthritis and being unable to play his beloved guitar any more he could no longer cope, Rest in peace my friend you will be missed x

I have a recollection that he used to do the midweek chart rundown at lunchtime in the mid '70's on R1. I think that he refused to play 'Bohemian Rhapsody' as it had been #1 for far too long and, like many others, he was bored rigid with it.

Am I misremembering this or did it happen?

Around that time he was in dispute with the BBC for not playing any music by the Bay City Rollers but not sure about Bohemian Rhapsody.

I think it's my fading memory because I can't find any reference to it. Perhaps wishful thinking.

As an aside, I have you on ignore but don't know why or how that happened. Don't know how to cure it either but still manage to read your posts.
