Rick Buckler, drummer from The Jam. 69

Gutted by this news, it was only announced the other day he'd postponed a "In conversation" tour due to on-going health issues.

The Jam were my band growing up, 69 is no age. RIP Rick.

Before my time but hugely important band for me, The Jam. Saw Rick when he and Bruce were both in From The Jam. Was a good night. Sad news.

Still pissed off that I missed The Jams last tour. Instead of going to The Cornwall collissum we travelled to Swindon instead. RIP Rick. Great drummer. Will be listening to Funeral pyre later and that epic drumming.

Cornwall Colloseum was the one and only time I got to see The Jam...just made it...they must have only played half a dozen giggs after that...

Brilliant! I'm very envious. If I had made it there, I would probably gone full-on mod for life!
The colloseum was a great venue down by the beach. The Jam there must have been epic? It was near to the end of the last tour so I guess you are right. Saw The Smiths and PWEI there. Shame it's gone.

Just checked... https://www.setlist.fm/search?query=the+jam+beat+surrender (excellent website for anyone who's not seen it)

They played at the Coliseum on the 28th November and played 11 more gigs (they really packed them in) finishing up at the Brighton Centre on the 11th December 1982...that really would have been quite something I'm sure. Weller must love that venue, I've seen him solo a couple of times there....

Gosh, I thought he'd popped it a while a go, along with Jim Bowen. Definitely was a welcome accompaniment with a bottle of Lucozade original, and Chicken Soup when not well. Think he was a regular on Classic FM too
