He was a brilliant player, and what a team. I can remember the 78 World Cup and everyone in the playground wanted to be one of the Dutch players.
I was lucky enough to see a few of that Dutch side in the flesh in 79/80 when Town played a friendly vs Roda Kerkrade JC who had 4 of the 78 World Cup squad. We thrashed them 4-1 with Kamara missing a penalty too. But my God the Dutch were so techinally gifted for the time, they had a great team and Neeskens was pivotal in that team RIP. |
