Platoon on digital last night one of my all time favourites partly driven by the old speccy game that came free with the soundtrack (Smokey Robinson) and that my parents wouldn’t let me watch the film as I was to young.

God I remember waiting for the release of that game for months and it came with a free poster to boot.

Anyway, top film that has stood the test of time and while it’s not as heavy going as Apocalypse now it’s a solid watch.  8.5/10

Tonight I have Underworld Rise of the Lycans.  The original is one of those films I shouldn't admit to liking but it's one of those pointless and stupid romps that are enjoyable all the same.

Just got back from Inglorious Basterds. Loved it. Christoph Waltz is the stand-out performance for me.

Pi was a really, really strange film and not what I was expecting. The story was too intrinsic on the numbers and these didn't really do exciting things before the film's climax. I'd give it an average 6 out of 10.

Watched Taken recently, which was an acceptible thriller but too like some many other films of that genre.

Also just watched Milk, an education and a decent film to boot.

I watched the 2000's version of The Alamo with Billy Bob Thornton as Davy Crockett. Very, very, very slow and when you got to the battle even that was disappointing. It's a near miracle that I got to the end credits.

3/10.

Yeah I thought that was good fun when I watched it. It is very silly and the bit where he hides in the fridge when the atomic bomb goes off is possibly the most ridiculous over the top thing I've ever seen in a film.  Eek Soapy Tit Wank

Overall tho I found it to be a good laugh.

I watched Orphan last night which I expected to love ever since seeing the trailer and had been looking forward to. I thought it was quality. My girlfriend guessed the twist halfway through and said it to me but that didn't ruin the film. The girl who plays the lead character was so creepy, it was great.

Is Domino as bad as I expect it to be? It's on film4 shortly but I may try and find a dvd I haven't seen yet if it's going to be bad.
