Has anyone seen 17 Again? I can't get enough of Zac Efron at the moment so I've got it lined up for the weekend.

Saw "The Happening" on Sky the other night. Absolutely crap after early promise, 3/10.

In fact M. Night Shyamalan fluked the Sixth Sense and made shoddy movies thereafter. Only Unbreakable was any good, but even then I really, really hated the lack of finality in that.

I do enjoy the odd 80's cheesy movie. For example, The Wraith was on BBC 1 t'other day. Ok it was rubbish really, but somehow also quite captivating.

Speaking of 80s movies I watched The Thing the other night. Cracking film.

I also caught the end of a cheesy film but a classic - The Karate Kid. Truly inspring. I may even have to go against my better judgement and watch Crossroads [the Ralph Macchio one not the Britney one] soon.

I like to think that The Happening would have been a really good book, but it was really bad.

It looked very pretty et al but Mark Wahlberg and the usually brilliant and always lovely Zooey Deschanel are atrocious.

For what it's worth, I think that Signs is Shymalan's best work to date.

At the weekend I watched the Wicker Man remake with Nicholas Cage and as expected it was shit. It was actually even worse than I thought it'd be..

I also watched Children of the Corn, which I expected to find really creepy but actually it was rubbish and the special effects at the end when you see the demon were such an anti-climax and just so unbelievably dated it was laughable.

Currently watching Street Kings.

The film itself seems OK enough, but there is something deeply unsettling about Hugh Laurie playing a serious role in a yank accent. I just stop expecting him to get into a Prince of Wales from blackadder type character.

He's not done it yet though, still waiting for him to call for Edmund Blackadder.

I finally watched Let The Right One In last night which I had added to my lovefilm list after reading the synopsis. It's been recommended by a few people since I added it so I was looking forward to finally watching it.

I quite enjoyed the intrigue of the whole thing and it escaped using the cliche that other films of its type use.

I didn't really think 'wow that was a great film' though, the film's hype is a tad undeserved which may be born out of the foreign/cult film hype scenario. I'm not sure how the book would play out, the film could have done with a bit more suspense which the book may have.

Saw Gervais' effort ghost town last night and it was a bit of a let down.  Essentially the denist from BBC "comedy" My Family meets Ghost and it was a fairly flat affair all round 4/10

Saw The Time Traveler's Wife yesterday.  My superior half loved it, and I thought it was surprisingly good as well.
