I know this will spark an outcry and a possible hunting down of me, but I liked it better than the first, at least production quality wise.  I also thought the score was better, which I know is akin to committing treason to say.  As much as I hate to say, it made me think a remake of the original might be a worthy endeavour.  And to be clear, I loved the original - just thought the sequel was a bit edgier

The score? THE SCORE? Vangellis wrote beautiful music for the original and it really adds to the whole atmosphere and feel of the film.

As for a remake of the original- NO! Very few remakes improve a film and Blade Runner is a classic that should be left well alone.

Been nothing but crap generated for years.

Hidden Figures was a cracking film. First Man also. Bit of a NASA theme going on here for me I think.....

Don't go messing with the cult of Blade Runner - I knew what I was in for to be fair.  You are right, it would be badly done and not improve on the original, but I just want the original with modern day production quality.  And yes, Vangellis created a stunning score, I just love me a bit of Zimmer, especially when it's his less cheesy stuff.  I'm probably just poking the bear a little if I am being honest.

While we are on sci-fi, one of my worst moments of reviewing a film was Arrival.  I watched it on a plane, and in hindsight I was likely very drunk as well.  I proceeded to tell my brother I couldn't really get into it and found it a bit dull.  He argued I was insane.

I gave it a second go on a big TV and sober, it was crazy good.

Amazing what your personal state can do to how you receive a film (in this instance, I am sure I dozed off in my original attempt because entire new scenes appeared on second viewing!).

Similar but different was Southland Tales, which has two different versions.  Almost the same but with extreme changes in the ending.  The shit one was the one I watched, the good one the one my brother watched.  We argued for some time before relaising the issue.

Probably American Pie films, Monty Python etc.  I tend to re-watch comedies - they are always funny, whereas far better films rely on not knowing every second of every scene.  So I tend to watch them far less often, to keep them nice and new for the next time.
