Austin’s as far out of the recruitment approach imaginable, so it would be a (welcome) surprise if he returned.
My money would be on him joining his mate Barton down the M4.

Austin isn't a Swindon Fan, The only connection he has with us is he played for us once.

But I can't see it. He's not really our current MO, probably expensive and probably got better options.
He isn't THAT far out of the MO, hes still only 33 and when a player of his obvious quality becomes available then we would be silly to not go for him. MacDonald is 30, hes not near our MO but we signed him, 7 of the 19 players we signed are 24 or over this season so its not 100% true that we only go for very oung inexperienced players. Players who have played in the 1st team signed by Lindsey/Sandro. Lavinier - 21 Wakeling - 21 Roberts - 21 Brennan - 22 Brynn - 22 Clayton - 22 Darcy - 22 Devine - 22 Shade - 22 Hutton - 24 Hepburn-Murphy - 24 Harries - 25 Adeloye - 26 Khan - 26 FBT - 27 Macdonald - 30 His wife is from Swindon and their childs grave is here also so maybe she wants to be closer to her home?

The Austin thing still doing the rounds then. If true, would be very silly upheaving your whole family to the other side of the world for less than 6 months...
Speaking from experience, 6 months would be around the time I'd have jumped on a plane back home if the nagging doubt was there sufficiently. It's like a holiday for a few months, then the reality of the situation dawns and you begin to question the move. My family and I had a sit down "have we done the right thing" conversation at around that time. In our case we all agreed it was worth seeing through and love it 6 years later (although my son, who left at age 7 and is now 13, keeps saying he will go back when old enough!). He is a long way from home, don't underestimate that, and it's not as easy he may have thought to just fly back and see friends and family.

He is a Swindon fan now, he used to watch us before he joined and lives in Hungerford. He socialises in Swindon and comes to watch us play and his wife is in Swindon all the time as her family live here. There are so many more connections. Based on things i have seen him say and people who know him say i reckon he would rejoin us tomorrow. Just have a feeling Chang is likely to be right here and we see him at Rovers

This exactly - me and my family sold up and moved to Florida, after about 4 to 5 months it was not going how we expected, and amongst other numerous reasons, we had seen enough and experienced enough to decide the right thing to do was to come back. Unless you have experienced doing something like that and have lived through the challenges that every member of your family of different ages are going through, it's not silly at all - in fact it is very brave to make such a move in the first place, and then admit that it is not working.

Whilst not necessarily suggesting anything nefarious I would be interested to know who his agent is? Not necessarily saying a favour has been done but there is, for instance, quite the history in cycling of cyclist 'x' being signed mainly on the basis that it actually secures the signature of cyclist 'y' who is represented by the same agent and is the one the team really wanted.

Apparently the bloke from Ayr scored against Newport today. Maybe it was his Fjortoft moment...

His agent was stood next to me at Wembley the day he hit the divot. We were right in line with it. You could see what he was thinking!

Austin would be perfect for a side creating a bucket load of opportunities and struggling to put them away.
We are far from that right now. Struggling to muster a shot on target most weeks.
If he comes here, people may end up incredibly disappointed.

In theory Jeff Cott is a poor man's Charlie Austin and as you say given the evidence of how many chances he's being given per game (i'm sure there are stats to back up what our eyes are seeing) i'm sure Charlie would be in the same position, and I suspect would be more denigrating to the side given his standards will be high and playing in a side like ours, I suspect he wouldn't be unvocal about it leading to dressing room drama, lack of morale yada yada. I've said in matchday threads before, the easiest job on a weekend these days are Swindon Town's opposition keepers. If you can catch crosses you are laughing pretty much.
