Absolutely, to score goals you need good ball delivery to the striker IN THE BOX, not just "box entries" as all too often we play the ball into the box and it gets played straight out again by our own player who prefers to keep posession than actually having a shot or a cross.
This has been my main complaint all season, to many passes around the box and not enough directness and risk taking, we just pass it sideways or backwards to keep posession and all too often an attack ends up with Brynn (or either CB) touching the ball well inside our own half less than 3 or 4 passes later.
Box enteries is another rubbish stat that meanings nothing in the ever growing over statisication of football… Is so contextual. Like if Hutton crosses it over everyone and out for a throw in the other side did it enter the box? Does our player have to actually touch it in the box and have possession for it to be considered a valid entry?

If Austin returns to the UK he will have suitors higher up the leagues than little old Swindon.
He has managed 1 goal every 2.5 games at Brisbane Roar (2 from 5).
By contrast Jephcott has a 1 in 3 rate (5 goals in 15) and Wakeling has a 1 in 4.8 rate (5 in 21).
Not sure it will matter who else wants him. I think he will want to join us , the ball will be firmly in our court if we want him

Indeed, plus one would imagine Austin is getting some sort of service at Roar, something Jephcott and Wakeling have been rather starved of.
Absolutely not. We would be beating Brisbane roar. I have watched a few of their games and spoke to people and it really is a shit show of a club. Austin in this team would be on double at least what our current strikers are on. Even the chances on Saturday he is in the spaces the others weren't. I would be doing everything in my power to bring him back

Thats interesting mate, I hope you are right and that we can indeed "bring him home" as to speak. If course we can afford his wages.

Must confess to have rarely if ever watched Australian football, but assumed that their top division would be somewhat better than 4th tier English football, Christ if we would beat them they must be shite.

I did see he had a "furious rant" at a Brisbane teammate only a couple of weeks ago that went viral.
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-11336135/Charlie-Austin-launches-FURIOUS-X-rated-half-rant-Brisbane-Roar-teammate.html
Thats not the actions of a happy player.

Valid around Christmas I guess, unless your delivery is by Hermes/Evri and then you have no box to make an entry into!

This isn't fair - we also can do crosses which would be dangerous if there was anyone near them, but there isn't.
Perhaps by sacrificing one of the 5 defenders for a more forward thinking player could alleviate this?

I reckon him and Caddis in a management duo will be in the dugout within 20 years.
