I'm a bit underawed by this - it doesn't sound like the club is "sold" to me.

Until Fittons men have moved their desks in and the money has changed hands, I'll remain sceptical.

I refer all of you pessimistic sods to PaulD's post.

Wills/Diamandis have sold up lock stock and barrel. This deal is done. We're safe. On the piss Saturday.

Only 12 hours ago or so people weren't so sure Sam, why the sudden change of heart.  Fred was very underawed by it all.  Paul D a couple of days ago was saying how a "conditional" deal meant nothing.

Now it's 100% done?  I'm confused.

(not meaning to be down about it, just worried this isn't all sorted yet).

I'm sorry Sam, I just can't let myself get excited until it's all done. With all due to respect to Paul I'm not taking his word for it alone.

why not flip it around?

wills and co have finally agreed to sell the club. and not only that, but they have agreed to do so as long as they can fulfill a load of conditions.

in the parlance of our times, it's a bit like buying a house and saying i'll only buy it if you re-furbish it to my taste, and if i don't like it then i aint buying.

The important bit is that Wills/Diamandis have sold their shares to Fitton. They have a large controlling share. Everything else will lead on from this decision.

They still have to go back to St Modwen. And we do owe them a lot of money. But they have budgeted for it.

This is the day the ownership/running of the club changed hands.

The third party (St Mowden) still bothers me a bit. It's like agreeing to refurb the house Lebowski, then the builder pissing in your wardrobe Cheesy

I'm not a business man and don't pretend to understand the ins and outs of it Spence.  So the shares have been sold, or have they conditionally been sold?

Sorry for being simple about this!

Dont be confused....

For the last 18 months we have wanted wills and diamindis to fuck and now they have signed a legal document sayingthey will do so. The things that need to be sorted ie st Modwen and the inland revenue are surely things that Fitton has already looked into and allowed for

A couple of days ago I was reacting to the immediate news of a "conditional" agreement, and expressed concern about what that meant. Now we have a clearer idea what it means, and hence I'm not concerned. Fred was just getting the wrong end of the 75% stick. Go celebrate you miserable bloody jock  Cheesy

You can't blame us for being a little nervous about the events to come in the next 2/3 weeks though Mucca!!

It's like seeing the horse you've backed clear the last hurdle at the Grand National, it's a good 5 lengths clear of the tiring horse in second, just got that long straight to go to win you your money, you know it should win, but you never know....

That's the way I feel right now.

So if this was the Grand National would you say the horse you've backed has won, subject to a stewards enquiry (and you know your horse has done nothing wrong)?

My understanding (please correct me if I'm wrong!)

- Fitton & co have set up a new holding co, buying the shares of Diamandis and Wills (75% of the club) the rest is small shareholders I presume?

- The way I read the issue with St Modwen is that a deal has basically been agreed with them, just needs to be signed off by th relevant people on 11/1/08.

-Now that the conditional agreement has been signed there will be no further last minute amendments - the price and what fitton is buying is now legally binding
