Bar an absolute goal machine (Mooney or Parkin like) I truely believe we have a better starting 11 and squad than the playoff season. There's no reason why we shouldnt go one step fiurther this term and i truely belive that, even with the "rose tinted specs off" (come to think of it, never reallyy understodd that little phrase)

Yeovil have one of the best right wingers in the league, so i'd like to see someone who can defend at left back on sunday if im honest.

Vincent will have this bloke in his pocket on Sunday, ok so he doesn't do the fancy stuff, but he's solid, and will snuff out any danger Yeovil have on their right wing.

Thats what i meant. I'd rather have a recognised left back (vincent) than an attack minded winger.

But an absolute goal machine is vital

Zaaboub was actually a left back when we signed him. he has played left back his whole career upto joining us.

Ps,  I think vincent is a shite left-back.

Drop Zaboub (I know he's loved, but when was his last really good performance?)

Drop Peacock (He wants to be a midfielder and after seeing him this season, I want him to be a midfielder!)

Drop Sturrock (He's had his chance and sadly been found wanting)

Bring in JP, Cox and, if available, Paynter.

If Paynter can't play, I think Sturrock will stick with Peacock.

Zaaboub supplied the goal at cheltenham, the winner for Luton and took the corner that Pooky scored from on saturday. If anything Roberts should be dropped...

And so starts the Roberts versus Zaboub debate Cool

Zaboub loses the ball too often, trying to take on three players instead of playing the easy ball.

For someone who started out as a defender, his defensive pplay is virtually non existent!

Roberts achieves what Sturrock wants: He gets balls into the box, he follows up play and he now even tracks back!

When Roberts gets the ball I'm wondering what he's gonna do with it.

When Zaboub gets the ball, I'm wondering how long until he loses it.

And he wears gloves.................

its a no-brainer as far as I'm concerned-the novelty has worn off with boob (including his song). he gives away the ball more than pook but gets less stick (ok, i've been converted to liking pook so far but look out for the fickleness to creep in at some stage). boob will not start in place of roberts-sturrock loves roberts.

i know its early days but arrieta is not league 1 standard imo (a not-so-good paul dickov if you like) and if you'll pardon the cliche, he's a scorer of great goals (ciren and brentford) and not a great goalscorer (even though sturrock sees him every day in training and states that  "the boy knows where the goal is"). Don't feel at this present moment (trying to cover me tracks ala dennis wise) that sturrock has the confidence/faith in him to start a game in the league imho.

Could not agree more, the only sticking point in this theory is that we're on the box sunday and zaaboub loves it and may turn it on.

But i'm talking about end-product. How many goals has Roberts supplied?

Please don't think I'm arguing, just playing devils advovate. I'm glad it's Sturrock who has to pick the team and not me to be honest!

It's all down to personal preference I suppose.

Zaboubs had two assists this season, Roberts has had one. Imho Roberts is the more dangerous.

One thing that is undeniable though, is that after only one game, JP McGovern has the most assists of any player with three

As you said John, difficult decisions for Luggy................................

i have an incling that jpm might play through the middle at the expence of pook or easton this sunday. i'm sure he is an automatic pick anyway and barring injury will play week in week out.
roberts and zaboob have done alright so far imo. so sturrock deffo has a decision to make if one of them is to be sacrificed.cox will come in for blair and i expect peacock to keep his place upfront until paynter is fit.
squads looking good now and competition for places is healthy

And Chris Blackburn is top scorer with 2!!

It's nice that Sturrock has decisions to make, I can't remember a time where we had a fight on for EVERY position!
