That would be my choice (assuming Paynter can play of course) Can't see Luggy using Peacock upfront now we have got a few more in.

There is so much competition now it is unreal.

Cox has to play, and hopefully we'll see him up top with Peacock, or Mohammed. Not BLAIR!!! JPM will definitely start I should think, and Blackburn did himself no harm tonight either, but may be on the bench again I think

Sturrock will never make big changes to a side who haven't lost in Div 1, on the strength of beating a side as bad as Brentford in the Johnstones Paint Trophy!!

Good win tonight but I can see only McGovern getting the starting nod. He was absolute class tonight and he will be great for us this season.

Can see Blackburn, Cox and Arrieta on the bench with Comminges and Brez. Gives Blair a chance to do well - if he doesn't, Arrieta gets on first then Cox. Adams was disappointing tonight and don't see him breaking up Pook / Easton.

Sturrock values consistency, getting the team knowing how to play in his way. He's not going to chop and change because some jumped up Reading reserve is knocking on his door.

From the Brentford game my opinion is as follows-

Brezovan looked a bit 'flat'

Kennedy's slip led to their goal. Didn't do much wrong, but he and Allen are not ready for the first team yet.

Tozer was not as comfortable at RB as against Charlton, probably slipped down the pecking order a bit for CB, but possible cover at LB

Blackburn started slowly but gained confidence and took his goals well - was captain on the night (I think)

Almeida looked like a real find and I think we have good cover for Ifil/Aljofree there.  I fear for Ady Williams' future as a player for us.

Comminges will push Zaaboub hard on that performance. Better working back but probably not as creative. Bit more consistent than the begloved marauder.

Mcgovern was very good on delivery and workrate. Not in the Roberts attacking mould. Would be good in right side midfield I reckon

Adams was disappointing first half, got better but doesn't make the starting line up for me

Cox and Arrieta looked like a real threat against poor opposition. Arrieta was pulled up by the ref for a lot of niggly pulling and pushing type fouls, Cox wasted at least one good chance. Both offer more than Sturrock.

Mohammed impressed me with his pace and vision when he came on, worth more playing time

My concern is where Peacock now fits in. I had him down as the creative midfielder, but McGovern could do that based on last night, albeit poor opposition.

I don't think there'll be wholesale changes for Sunday, but everyone will have to be on their mettle from now on

suggested line-up

P.Smith
J.Smith
Vincent
Ifil
Aljofree
Comminges
Easton
McGovern
Roberts
Arrieta
Cox  (or Peacock/Paynter if target man preferred)

Bench
Brezovan   (gone in January IMO)
Almeida
Peacock
Mohammed
One other striker (Cox/Paynter)

Definitely in the mix as well
Zaaboub
Blackburn

Options - we've got options !

Fucking hell !!!

PS has got some decisions to make, thats for sure.

Would love to hear from those that actually went as to their views on what our starting 11 would be

Very Very interesting
I have to agree Fred. I was asked at half time who i'd pick for Sunday and after every position I filled, a but... appeared. Rather Sturrock than me.

Yep, that would be my choice of team too, although maybe start Paynter on the bench and bring Cox into the starting 11?

For me, the team needs to have Peacock in it. Pook's been playing well, but we never know which Pook is going to turn up.....Although i guess it would be unfair to drop someone based on that fact......

Sturrocks in for a hard time picking his starting 11, thats for sure

I think the lineup will be (not should be...):

Smith

Smith
Ifil
Aljofree
Vincent

JP
Pook
Easton
Roberts

Sturrock
Cox

I think Peacock will be dropped. And i'm not too bothered if he is to be honest.
