Holloway said at the kit launch on Friday that he’d asked for white shorts, it was popular with those in attendance (based on the cheers).

He just loves the sounds of his own voice and people will lap that sort of thing up

I would take that with a pinch of salt, the kit template is ordered around Aug/Sept time, so before Holloway would have been here..

The gold flash on the shorts would have looked horrible on red, that is more likely the reason..

That's true, but the fact that we haven't had any rain for ages makes the wicket easier to bat on. Furthermore, there is less swing when the conditions aren't overcast. So the batsmen have a significant advantage.

Add that to the fact that England dont have any top class  bowlers and all of a sudden the opposition can consistently score lots!

Has anyone actually enjoyed watching the last 2 tests? With the Stokes and McCullum era we were promised entertaining test cricket - in 5 days so far we've seen the bat dominate on flat surfaces, and for me it's not entertaining.

From an England fan's perspective, day 5 in the 1st test was entertaining but only because we won and I'm sure India fans would say the same from the 2nd test.

Cricket is at it's best when it's an even battle between bat and ball, and the surfaces they've prepared aren't conducive to that - which is making it rather dull.

Yep, I think it looks great and I'm really pleased they've gone back to white shorts...

It would be nice to have forwards with Smith who just occasionally gamble that he might win a flick on, and perhaps catch the defenders on their heels

I look forward to a good chunk of fans buying and wearing the full kit in the DRS, that will look terrific. Socks and shinpads boys!

I know it's a bog standard adidas kit and what not but I thought it looked really nice in the game v Supermarine. The gold is a nice touch as a tertiary colour, makes sense too as it's on the badge, and gives us that tiny bit of something unique as can't think of many other teams in red, white and gold.

IMO it looks a lot better as a full kit v just the shirt.

Was extremely unlikely to  buy it anyway so don't really care as such

100% the above.

Absolutely agree about defenders at this level being poor and having no pace, press them, there arent many CB's that can get near matching Smith in the air so have someone quick close by for Smiths knock downs.

Most teams rely on massive CB's with the turning circle of an oil tanker so exploit that with a bit of pace.
