Yep. Many will tell you that the moon, Sun etc are actually quite small and just a few miles away. According to many flerfers, even the stars are within the firmament. (A clear dome covering the Earth as mentioned in the bible)

Think we touched on this recently. They believe the Sun is only 3km (2mi) high and the equinoxes happen because the "sun orbits above Earth in an oval fashion..." It really is delusion of the highest order.

Discovering by accident on swindon-town-fc that ex-reserve goalkeeper Craig Farr apparently has Romanian nationality. What?

From a BBC report today
"Roger Kneebone, professor of surgical education at Imperial College, London, says young people have so little experience of craft skills that they struggle with anything practical."

Cheesy Ah yes, I've read a paper by his colleague, the well-respected Professor Thighbone.

Strangely enough, I had an op on my knee a couple of weeks ago. I've never been able to get away from saying knee-hole surgery instead of keyhole...

I have a question on that Mr Munich,, was it done under general or local anesthetic?

It was a general Mr Batch. I was out for about 90 minutes. The surgeon, Frau Winter, cleaned up the torn meniscus and repositioned the knee cap a little upwards. Next appointment is Nov 11th when she'll run the ultra-sound over the knee as a check up. I'm taking a memory stick, the clinic will upload/download the exploratory video taken inside the knee before the op. One hole each side of the knee, each needing two stitches.

For the first 10 days it was 23 hours a day in bed with the leg up, being looked after at a girlfriend's place. I've had physio twice a week and can now walk around enough to go shopping and to the pub etc. Hoping to be able to ski at Christmas. Quite pleased really, a mate over here had a more complex knee op 5 weeks ago and is still using two crutches.

Hope that wasn't too much detail :-) Do you have a knee problem?

Cheers.

Yes, initially suspected torn meniscus but had an inconclusive MRI.

Had a steroid injection last Wednesday as consultant feels its arthritis/worn cartilage (i.e. general wear and tear).  Felt pretty good Thursday-Sunday. Went and pitch and put on Sunday. Now it aches again.

Next stage would be an arthroscopy to smooth the cartilage under the knee and repair the meniscus if tear found (or trim it or whatever they do). Hence the question.

Was advised it was 2 weeks recovery, but in and out same day. About 3 months off even getting on that list though.

You're welcome.

My knee had been an occasional problem for a few years, when it finally needed sorting I got the op within two weeks of the MRI scan. In and out of the clinic in 3 hours. Had the cartilage smoothed too. Sounds similar to what you may kneed. ;-) Some surgeons say you can put weight on your foot next day apparently, but with me it was ok-ish to ditch the crutches after c10 days. Still limping a bit.

Good luck!
