I feel similarly about England as I do about Swindon and Britain as a whole. It's all become a bit shit, I've lost a lot of my interest, retain some semblance of loyalty against my better nature, but protect my sanity by trying not to take any of it too seriously.

Have a bit of Squires...

Gareth Southgate’s greatest achievement was introducing (along with Stuart Pearce) the Sex Pistols onstage for the Finsbury Park gig in 1996. The lure of filthy lucre still prevails 21 years on.

I'd go so far as to say England doing badly is a source of pleasure. It's not England doing badly that I enjoy, per se, more the fruits of the FA's continued greed being so visible.

I look at England as representative of everything that's bad about modern football I suppose.

And I FUCKING hate that shitcunt band.

Interesting how fans' groups can still see the FA as somehow benevolent, so when looking to lobby for an enhanced fit and proper persons test, it's thought the FA might oblige.

As for Power, if we end up in the Conference, he'll still pass their more stringent test.

Don't think it's so much that they see the FA as "benevolent" or likely to help, so much as the FA are (allegedly) the game's governing body, so they are the appropriate body to impose such an enhanced test. The leagues have tried (not very hard) and manifestly failed to produce anything more useful than a chocolate teapot so the next step is the FA. I also suspect that the groups in question are not so naive as you imply - that the appeal to the FA is more to demonstrate to govt that the FA as currently constituted is not fit for purpose and hence provide further impetus behind the already impatient mood in parliament with the FA's ongoing failure to reform itself, much less the game

I saw that too, brilliant. The world needs more out of control pensioners on naked rampages

Those crazy Scots are at it again.

If I dropped a floater, picking it up and throwing it out of a window would not even enter my mind.

Not sure if you've ever been a student but £300 to fix a window isn't particularly easy to find! Although I think ol' poo-thrower should have paid!

Brilliant story though. Who throws a poo? Just own up!

Used to know a couple of characters many years ago who would package up any particularly impressive bog blockers and send them to each other in the post.

It was a passing phase.

I knew a guy a few years ago who worked in a pub, there was a log so large he had to use the bog brush to break it up. Think of a whole black pudding  Cheesy

I've heard many variations on the shit throwing story over the years.

Here's the Macc lads with one of them..
