Yeah, I use MyFitnessPal. I've not gone higher than a couple of kg gained in a bad week thus far. So far, so good.

MyFitnessPal is great as it makes you think about everything you're eating/drinking.

I've lost over half a stone since Christmas.

I did a football fitness course tonight ran by Jerel Ifil. Can highly recommend it as it's hard work and high intensity.

My trouble is shifting the alcohol, I've cut out the beer this year but getting through a bottle of whisky a week can't be good, I think it's impending fatherhood that's making me drink more

Good work! Agree re: MyFitnessPal. I'm not a fitness guru and have no plans to be but I'm watching those calories.

Luckily, I don't drink.

Why don't you trial it and let us know the results?

Don't need to buddy. Ten and an half stone and five foot nine, as tested by Jayo. I was being caring and sympathetic and thinking of others x

The NHS 111 helpline thingy - people slag it off all the time but it's always been amazing when I've used it (which is a lot since having a child!)

No it is dead handy, especially with a young un!

What does grate a little is the fact that they ask you all the monitoring questions at the start, so you are frantic with worry and having to answer the administrator questions before you get to ask for help...

Just a small gripe and I admit I can be grumpy when worrying about the tiny terror!

I had to use it last year when my (then) fiancé was experiencing bad stomach pains but was too stubborn to want an ambulance. They asked a load of questions about the type of pain she was experiencing which is very difficult for someone in agony to ask, although I do get why they have to ask the questions.

Long story short they said they would send an ambulance and 3 hours later said ambulance didn't arrive but she had fallen asleep so I cancelled the ambulance.

Luckily it was nothin serious but certainly not impressed at all.

Yeah it was just trapped wind and I urged her to have a massive fart.

Nah she was then in hospital for nearly a week with some kind of stomach virus which I can't remember the name of.

The thing it, that the people on the end of the phone have no or very little medical training. You may as well just use google.

Our local pharmacist is also good with looking at kids ailments, the kind of non-critical stuff that you don't want to bother the GP about.

People don't realise that many pharmacists can also write prescriptions too.
