My aunt lost her life today at the hospice in Wroughton. Obviously we are all very sad, but the care of the staff there has been exceptional in making sure her last days were the best they possibly could be.
There really are some amazing, caring people out there, that make all the dickheads seem insignificant. That's something to smile about,

Sorry for your loss Ells.
Nurses and carers who look after terminally ill patients are the best most giving people in the world.
Its only when you or your friends/family members need their help that you realise how much they give.
I found this out myself recently with my illness, the cancer care and Macmillan nurses are the best and I am so grateful they got mine early enough to treat it, many others are not so lucky.
At least your Aunt was around people that genuinely cared, making the transition out of this life an easier passage.

Applied for a replacement passport last Thursday, it arrived in the post this morning - no fast track or anything just the standard check and send. Very impressed!

I would recommend the check and send thing from the post office, avoids any danger of the buggers sending the form back to you - it does cost an additional tenner though. My step brother applied for a renewal from Sweden where he lives three weeks ago and that also arrived today so they are getting through them. No thankfully I am not rushing, the Tour of Flanders isn't until the first week in April but I still feared it would be a stressful rush! |

The passport office have definitely got their act together after the farce of a year or two ago when it was taking months. My Mrs replacement took a week to arrive back so I reckon that's the norm nowadays.
